We are staying at a hotel in Buena Park and need advice on how to get to DL. They have shuttle bus but its only 2 x's morning and 2x's evening. We would like to go come back put kids down for a nap and go later in evening. The hotel shuttle doesnt have those times. So I looked into buses, no routes from Hampton Inn in BP to Disneyland (or are there?). So next thing is to park at The Block Orange and take the ART...good idea? Is there a better place to park and take a shuttle- I hear so many negative things about parking at DL I am too scared to do that. So my question is

Is ART my best option now?

If so where is the best place to park and take ART?

Is the route from THE Block Orange a long route?

Any suggestions would help me! Thanks :thumbsup2

Buena Park must not be very close if the shuttle only runs 4 times. Could you possibly switch to a closer hotel, or at least one where ART stops? We used ART from our hotel on the last trip and it was fine. Very easy and didn't experience long waits at all. It can get crowded at night when everyone is headed back to their hotels, but over-all good experience. In 06 we stayed at Holiday Inn across the freeway and they had thir own shuttle that ran ever 30 min or so. Last trip we were at La Quinta about 2 and a half blocks away and used ART. From what everyone has said about parking at DL, I would NOT attempt it. Sounds like a major time-waster.

As far as possibly driving to another lot or hotel to park and take ART, I recommend caution because I don't think hotels like it when people park in their lots if they are not guests at their hotel.

Hope this helps a little.

I can't imagine the Block would be happy with you parking there wihtout shopping there.

If there's a choice between staying nearby and walking, or staying far away and driving, many of us feel it's better to stay nearby and walk. But you've chosen to stay far away; therefore, IMO, it's better to just drive in and park. Sure it's a pain in my opinion (we are always told to park as far away from the escalators as you can get, it seems), but it's less of a pain than driving somewhere to use ART!

Don't be scared of parking at DL, just be prepared.

The parking at DL is better than parking at the block or taking a shuttle IMO. The Hampton Inn at BP is pretty easy to get to DL from. You can hop on the 91 E from there and then take the 5 S. Then just get off on DL Drive and park. Very easy. Should take only a few minutes really with no traffic.

The drive from BP to DL is usually only about 15 minutes, not that bad really, if there's traffic it can be a little bit longer though.

I agree with everyone who says to drive your car. Once you drive that first time, it'll be pretty easy.

It's a lot more convenient & time-saving to park at DL than to take the ART and then drive from the Block @ Orange.

Thought I would share what I finally found out. The reason for picking Buena Park was the cost and size of hotel. So I took off Hampton Inn and suites and instead put on Radisson hotel in Buena Park w/ free shuttle every hour going and coming with exception of lunch break. They are all suites which we need for our family size (6), free breakfast, and parking. Much better since I couldnt find any reasonable priced transportation.

Thought I would share some of my new info :thumbsup2

I see, cause i was gonna comment BP is alittle ways away, i wouldn't really think about doing breaks if i was staying there, but if it works out better for you guys!!! But i agree with everyone else on driving, rather then busing just because once you pay for everyone on the bus and back it would be the same as parking.... I don't know how the price diffrence would work out but Deserts Inn as well as Best western park inn all have family suites that would fit you guys and is right across the street just an idea!

and I know that the Residence Inn Garden Grove also has suites (one and two bedroom), free breakfast, evening snacks most week nights, and free parking. You can get a family pass for the ART for the length of your stay. Don't know what the price difference is, but it seems it would be a little closer...... I did look up this option for myself for the summer and the rates seemed to be very good.

Parking at DL is not that bad at all. I do it once a week.. It is $11 and save your ticket to re-enter. Also going remember that is can be about 30 min getting to the car, from the tram and escalator and into the park. So is it worth it to go back and rest.

Also if you are going in the next few weeks the park is only open till 8.

A few secrets for the M and F parking lot.. There is a cut through at letter 'C'. So you do not need to walk to the far end of the parking lot. Walk to letter C and head right. When going up the ramp and parking try to stay to the right as that is closer parking that the left side..
