What do you do to stay dry on the water rides? Do you bring your own jackets and carry around? Last year I got so soaked at Kali River we had to leave the park (good thing it was the end of the day) and in February it is not exactly steaming hot so it wasn't that much fun. The kids love the water rides though. I just hate carrying extra stuff around.

I was thinking of getting one of those poncho things...the thought of getting through the rest of the park with squishy wet clothes isn't exactly appealing :rotfl2:

I hate getting wet too......

If you are going on splash mountain, ask for a seat in the rear of the flume, not a guarante, but you are less likely to get wet.

River rapids is like Popeye and blutos bilge rat barge (universal) there is no safe seat. You can make it your last ride before heading back to your room as an option. I buy a poncho, it folds back up smaller than you think and not really a pain in the neck to carry around. Another reason why I like ponchos is it keeps your rear end dry. You may not get wet but the seat is always wet and muddy from everyone's shoes. That's pretty gross because it's just plain dirt.

Another great use for your poncho......I still have mine because I use it to seperate my clean clothes from my dirty ones in my suitcase.

You have to have footwear so bring your flipflops and put them on in the queue, dumping your shoes at the bottom of a bin bag. Put your other stuff on top of your shoes (bumbags, camera etc) and tie the top so you can put it straight in the middle of the "dry" place in the centre. If you wear a poncho as well you should be able to come off the ride and put your sry shoes and socks back on and continue round the park.

I have heard suggested that a chamois leather is better to carry than a towel as folds smaller (apparently that's what those divers were using at the Olympics - I wondered for ages about that!), or a microfibre towel is good but a bit expensive.

There is a dry spot on Splash? I though only Kali had one of those. :sunny:

When we were there last Feb. it was in the low 50's and we didn't want to get soaked, they were selling the ponchos near the entrance to Kali River Rapids, so we got them there.

My son hates to get wet. I bought the "disposable" ponchos in the camping section at Walmart. I think they were 87 cents each. I just threw them away after he went on the ride. They come in a really small package so they are easy to carry. The plastic they are made out of is really thin but it kept him dry on Kali
