Staying at Windsor Hills....commute time?

I've heard a report as low as 8 minutes portal to portal from Epcot to WH via the Sherbath Rd (sp?) "shortcut". I haven't stayed there yet (going in June!) but I do know it is one of the closest off-site resorts to WDW.

It's under 2 miles....and 2 traffic lights.

The answer is, it really depends on which part of WDW you're going to. I've made it from our home to Animal Kingdom in 2-3 minutes (it's the closest park). I forgot our park tickets at home at Epcot one trip, and I timed it...from the parking lot of Epcot, to the front door of our WHR townhome, I made it in 7 minutes, now granted, I caught both of the 2 traffic lights green.

MGM is closer, MK is slightly further, perhaps 12 mins.

WDW is HUUUUUGE, the property is larger than the island of Manhattan, so distances can be a little deceiving!

That being said though, Windsor Hills is VERY close to WDW, you really can't beat it for location, it's brand new, and a gorgeous resort!

Honestly it can be minutes never over 15 so far except once we were in traffic heading to BBB and a car was on fire so it was a bit of a wait.

We were just there in April and the longest it took us was 14 minutes and that was getting to MGM . . . and of course we hit both lights red. I noticed that the light to cross over 192 takes forever if you hit it right after it changes red . . . and of course that was our luck multiple times! LOL!

Animal Kingdom was 5 minutes at the most. The Sherberth Rd shortcut was fantastic!

How long is the commute from Windsor Hills to WDW?

Thanks!

Super easy, super fast, just like from Emerald Island, Windsor Palms, Rolling Hills, Oak Island, and the other Formosa Gardens area properties.

We feel the car from WH or EI beat the WDW transportation for everything except for MK on the monorail/ferry.

Great! Thanks! I'm really happy to hear that...I know it said three miles, but you never know how long that three miles takes.

it's sounds like I won't have to take any freeways...another plus.

Thanks again!

Actually it's just under 2 miles...something like 1.9...just an FYI! and 2 traffic lights!
