We're headed to The World the end of July...:cool1: Staying at the Saratoga Springs Resort...Thanks to a family member sharing her Timeshare.:goodvibes I'm traveling with my kids...12, and 9 yr old twins. Something I said I would never do is Disney Parks in July!!! The heat...the lines:rotfl2: I'm use to going in the winter or spring when the weather is perfect and lines are short..:) I'm mostly worried I'd invest $$$ in a some hopper passes for a couple of days..and find that one of my twins....melts in the heat:rotfl2: and the other is so :worried: about having to ride rides ....and then...I become :furious: I'll be wondering where the pixie dust is :wizard: !! If money wasn't a concern...I'd have no problem buying a week hopper pass..and just doing the parks slow and on the kids time...BUT, we don't have a $ tree so, I'm having to think differently. So, close...but yet so far?!!

SO, I've been coming up with "free" entertainment. Like an evening at the GF...listen to the music in the lobby....have a snack in the snack bar...watch the Electric Parade..watch the fireworks at C castle from GF....ride the Monorail....Downtown Disney....

Other suggestions?? Any other hotel worth checking out and maybe getting a snack or dinner??? HELP!

Thanks!

I think your kids would totally rebel to be soooo close and not be able to go to the parks. How about getting non-park hopper tickets for just a few days?

I'll have one that will rebel about having TO GO?? I'm not sure she is my child!!:confused3 Yes, I have thought about that...it would be cheaper..and would force a slower pace (especially for my rebeller) BUT...I'm not sure I want to spend a whole day at Epcot...or MGM...or AK....We've been enough that I only want to hit certain things...Our last trip was a couple of years ago..so, we have news rides that will be on our To Ride List... I'll give the non hopper some thought...maybe the budget will allow a 4 day pass..that way we can work in a park everyday...Thanks..

I probably should have disclosed that...my idea of doing Disney is arrive when they open and leave when they close!! It's an ALL day adventure!:cool1: My older two children 15,12 now..have ALWAYS been able to Go GO and GO!! Even at an early age...The twins only visit 3 yrs ago went ok....They were 5 or 6 at the time..and I made them ride in a stroller..to conserve their energy....At age 9 (actually will be turning 9 @ The World) I don't know if on their own power they can do it....It's sounding more like I have a personal struggle within about adjusting my expectations. :( Along with knowing that my DD has said she DOESN'T want to go....and my DH probably not making this trip...I have no other adult to lean on to pass off to.

Can you leave her there with a gameboy advance or PSP or just there to relax? I don't know where your closest kid's club would be but it would definitely be cheaper than a ticket for a child that does not want to go anywhere.:confused3

as the guest of my brother and his wife last month. SS had a beautiful pool with a slide. The kids were happy being there all day. They also had surrey ridesfor a charge and outdoor movies in the evening. You are a quick walk to Downtown disney to the lego store and the store with the Potato Heads(I forgot the name).

For a lot less money you could (Gasp:eek: :faint: ) get US tickets. If you have a rental car that might be a cheaper alternative. Does SSR have a community Hall. You may want to consider Mini Golf or a water park. I would consider a character breakfast. Kitchen sink at the Beach Club. What about the bikes to rent. Mine DD love just spending time in the pool.

no hopper but a base tix
then they can go in the am- go back to swim or do other stuff if they need a park at night- go to the one you went to in the am
