staying at the vistana pre cruise-couple of ?'s please

We got an unbelievable rate to stay at the vistana villages 4 nights before our disney cruise.We are doing the timeshare thing. We have stayed at the vistana before with my friend and her family. We have gotten a 2 bedroom in the past and all stay there. With this promotion we had to get our own 1 bedroom unit. We are traveling again together. We were told by the sales person that we should not request room close by since they(vistana) want to sell you a package. It would make life much easier for us to at least be in the same section. We both have 2 children the same ages. It is nice to come back from the parks and hang out in the living room all together. Here are my questions:
1- Which section is the newest/nicest that I can put a request for?
2- Has anyone else been in this situation with wanting to be close to another families room. Did you put a request to have rooms near by?
Any other tips about the resort. We were last there in august of 2002. We stayed in the cascade section. I am sure there have been many changes since then.

You mention the Cascades section and Vistana Villages. These are different resorts. The Cascades are at Sheraton Vistana Resort, an older, bigger resort. The Villages are all quite new, so age should not be a problem.

Vistana is very good about accomodating requests if possible. I would contact them ahead of time and request that the units be close together. Vistana Resort has a Diamond Lane checkin where you can do this online. I don't know about Vistana Villages.

You are right, I totally forgot. We were at the vistana in 2000 and stayed in the cascade section. In 2002 we stayed in the vistana villages.
I do not recall, Is there a better place to be at the vistana villages? I do not know why I am drawing a blank with the layout of the vistana village. I guess it must be old age setting in. Oh know, and I am not even 40 yet!!!!
I am a little afraid to ask for the request for our rooms to be close,since the rep for myself and a different rep that my friend used told us not to mention it. They both scared us. I would hate to lose this great rate.

Hey...first of all....let's not diss the 40 year olds !

Also, I've never heard of there being a problem requesting to be close together ??? That's got me perplexed. I've requested this before at the main Vistana resort and they granted us side by side villas. Gotta wonder what the line of thinking is here in not requesting to be close together ?

As for some bldgs being better than others at Vistana Villages----I have not personally stayed there, but it's my understanding that the lower numbered bldgs are close to the pool/main part of the resort ? So bldgs 1-5 would be your best bet to be close to the pool. But I think the higher numbers are the newest bldgs ? Regardless, I think the Villages is all pretty much new. Maybe someone who's stayed there can give you more details.
