Hi friends, just wondering if this will cause problems for us.

We're at POR for 6 days, and I just booked us for 2 days at CR. Side note -- this is a total surprise for my son, as he's been wanting to stay at CR ever since we took a monorail through it. He has no idea, and I'm pretty psyched!

I did just a room only reservation for CR. We have free dining and will have KTTW, but I assume we'll lose those (and our free dining) after checking into CR. Should I just buy a one day ticket and save us a few headaches? Or will this be an easy transition and it's not a big deal? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I would add the extra day to your package now it will be much cheaper that way , single day ticket is around $90.00 a seven day ticket will be much cheaper . The longer you stay the cheaper it is . Have a great trip and a magical day :thumbsup2

Thanks, and yes, we have 7 day tickets already. I understand that the longer we stay the cheaper it is, but I also worry that we will lose some benefits by not having tickets attached to the second reservation.

Regardless of the package you have 14 days to use the tickets you have so you will still be able to use the KTTW for that purpose or they will transfer the balance to the Key for the CR . Enjoy :cool2:

I think what cinnderly Is trying to say is, she wants to know if she will lose free dining while at the Contemporary if she does not buy any Park tickets for her stay there. I believe the answer to that is yes. Basically, dining is considered to be part of a package. This is one of the downsides of split stays. However, depending on how many people are in your party, I would probably just pay OOP for food while you are at the Contemporary. To keep free dining, you would need to buy a one day MYW ticket for each person in your party. Since those tickets are $90 per person for one day, it may be in your best interest just to pay out of for those meals for 2 days. I mean, if you have a party of four, that would mean you would have to spend $360 on one day MYW tickets. Do you think you would spend $360 00P on food in those two days?

The cheapest way to do it is to add ticket days to your POR stay to include the days you will be at the CR. As the pp said, you can still use your POR KTTW card for park entry during your CR stay as park tickets are good for 14 days from each use. Once you check out of POR, that KTTW card will be deactivated as far as entry into the room, but will still be valid for park entry (provided you have enough days for the parks to cover your CR stay). We have never done it, but I think you can have the extra park days taken off the POR card and put on the CR KTTW card upon check in at the CR. Any dining credits left the day of check out at POR will expire at midnight that night.

A 2 day base ticket per person is required to get free dining. A 1 day base is required if you pay for the DDP.

Like pp's said -- you can add a day or two of park tickets onto your package. It's sooooo much less expensive than buying new park tickets for a day or two. Then you can either still use the old cards to get into the parks, or have the CR move the remaining tickets onto your new KTTW cards when you check into the CR. You'll definitely lose the dining at the end of the day you move.

As PP's have said, it's definitely much cheaper to add a couple of days on to your original tickets and pay OOP for dining. I doubt you could recoup the 2-day ticket expense with the "free" meals. The only exception would be that you can buy the 2-day tickets, not use them this trip, and use them (add on to them) for a future trip.

And, make sure you use up all of your meals and snacks before midnight the day you check out of your first hotel. They'll expire at midnight, even though you're checking into another Disney hotel.
