Staying at GCH, tell me about cabana rentals please

I believe it's 60 days from the reservation day but I'm now wondering what time they're loaded into the system. Like I said in my earli post, I called just after 7am on day 60 and there was no availabilit but I called a couple days later like the CM suggested (she actually said call daily) and I got the full day reservation.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

I called the number shown on the page about the cabanas and got through easily.

Thanks, that is a big help. I hope you enjoy your cabana!

The cabana boys are extra. Tips are always graciously accepted too. My Auntie Minerva loves loves loves them boys. :) Matter of fact she has her favorites that she always requests even if she has to change her G C Hotel plans.
Why one, no actually three, guys were able to pay for most of their college tuition and expenses with from her gracious and grateful tips. :)

What happens if you order food or beverage? How is that handled in the cabana, money-wise?
They leave you the check in a folio and you pay it with either a credit card or your room card.

60 days is 60 days from the cabana day. Some days will book up. Last year, they loaded in at 6am.

We generally tip 15-20 percent of the cabana rental for the person who helped at the cabana and 20-25% for the food/drink to the server.

Thank you! It is so helpful to have all this info that you can't get from the website!

I'm glad tips came up. When we got a cabana at the Polynesian at WDW we handed a tip to the attendant and she said she wasn't allowed to accept it. I had assumed it would be the same at DL resorts. Thanks!

Was that because they are paid so very well? Lol I highly doubt that. Blah...

This morning I reserved my cabana rental from GCH right at the 60 day mark. The information is loaded into their system at 6am pacific time. I called at 6:30am and got my half day rental like I wanted. I also asked the CM how many more cabanas were open at both the GCH and the DH. She said she had two left at both hotels (two at GCH and 2 at DH). So yes, they do go very quick.

I know this is an older thread but I thought I'd give anyone a heads up who wants to book one shortly, that you can phone the GCH from 5.30am to book. I phoned yesterday morning at 6.30 for a cabana at DLH and all cabanas at DLH AND GCH were booked out. The CM who took my call suggested I try calling the next day at 5.30am as that's when the computer system changes over for them. I was successful!

Is there a cancellation fee if we decide not to use it?

Only if you cancel in the 24 hour window before your ressie, and it's the full cost of the cabana. If you cancel outside of the 24 hours there is no charge.

From the GCH cabana page:

"Cabana rentals may be canceled by the Resort hotel due to inclement weather; Guests will not be penalized in this case. Otherwise, 24-hour notice must be given. Please be aware that the full price of your cabana will be forfeited in the event of a no-show or same-day cancellation."

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/recreation/cabanas/

So that sounds to me like there is no cancellation fee, unless you cancel less than 24 hours in advance and then you're stuck with your entire rental fee.
