Staying at DLH, can we still use passage to CA from Gr Cal hotel?

IF we are staying at DLH, can we still use the passage from Grand Californian into CA park? It would be easier than walking to the end of DTD & using the regular entrance, wouldn't it? Thank you! We are leaving today!

No, you have to show your GC room key in order to use their special entrance.

I guess it's hit and miss. I have an AP and use that entrance / exit pretty frequently and they've never asked to see a room key from me.

I was last at the parks a few months ago and we had no problem getting through . But reasonably speaking it is not a time saver(or at least not much of one). Just walk straight to the traditional entrance.

I don't think I (persdnally) would have used the entrance without havong business at the hotel like a meal )

They do check for room keys when the park first opens in the morning. They may be more lax after that.

I've used that entrance/exit to go IN to the GC after already entering the park with an AP and it's no problem to come back OUT that exit to the park. But in the morning they do check room keys, at least in my experience.

I'm pretty sure you can use the Parardise Pier entrance which is just to the right of GCH front doors down the path.

There is a wrought iron gate that you have to use your room key to get into. I assumed all Disney resort keys would work, not just PP. We were staying at PP, but when we got to the gate at 9:45 for a 10:00 open, there were alot of folks and they already had used a key to open the gate...draw your own conclusions!

It is SUPER first thing in the morning if you want to start on that end of the park. Takes a while for everyone else to get there from the front. You can ride Screamin 5 times with no wait - if you can stomach it!
