We are staying at the Disney Grand Californian Hotel and want to upgrade the rooms to concierge. Bought a package for the hotel and tickets but they can't upgrade the room. Anyone have any ideas how up get the room upgraded? They have told me to wait until I check in and see if they can upgrade me then but I wanted to get it done before we get there.

I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that any room could have concierge service by adding the daily concierge fee of $150? Of course, the lounge probably has a capacity limit and it's possible that it is booked up already for the time your are there.

I think you are right about the capacity limit. We have concierge added to are trip in sept at GCH and I believe you really should add at the time you book your room so your room is located close to the lounge. I have heard of people staying concierge and the room was not close to the lounge. I will be very unhappy if this happens to us.
Just make sure if you do add conciege that your room is close to the lounge. Thats just me. If it not easy to get to then your not going to use it enough for the price.:headache:

Just talked to Disneyland Travel and they said they are sold out of concierge rooms. I can add it if available when I check in. That is what I am going to do, just wait until we get there.

Just came back - we tried to upgrade on arrival but there was no availability, either for rooms or service. I suggest you wait list with a travel agent - we were there after spring break etc and the hotel was still 100% full. If your agent keeps trying, you might get something as it opens up.

But a great stay anyway - we stayed in a lot of hotels around the US on this trip, and the GC was the best overall.

Had the same thing happen. We are going in Oct, requested upgrade and DLH and they said it wasnt available but we can try at check in.

Is it bad that im crossing my fingers someones plans fall through so we can get the upgrade?
