Staying at Blue Heron Hotel by Disney Springs??? Anybody have any experiences on this hotel

We have decided to stay off site at the Blue Heron hotel. It's way cheaper for our large family going in Jan 6 we have 4 adults and 2 kids. I have looked online and it looks very nice and not many bad reviews. But very hard too judge the distance to walk to Disney Springs with a 9 and 10 yr old. But might help calm them down at end of day a good walk like we won't be walking enough during the day at parks. Please give me your honest opinion of this hotel. I am such a micro manager when it comes to Disney trips actually any trip. I plan them to death trying to go with the flow this trip especially with a disabled child but will be hard.
Help calm my nerves but please give me your thoughts

We LOVED Blue Heron!
I really like all the space it allowed for our family.
I don't know about walking to Disney Springs though, it is just far enough to not make it fun.
I kind of think they had a shuttle.
I will say the parking area felt dated and sketchy, the pool area is just ok and was always crowded but the board walk/gazebo area on the lake was gorgeous.
The view from our room onto the lake was incredible, especially at sunrise.
I would stay there again, especially in the winter when swimming is not a priority.

I am a severe over planner on vacations. Plan them down to the last minute. So hard not too do that this trip with my 2 grandsons the youngest having disabilities that we have to work around and try to keep him calm and us not crazy dealing with him. I see lots of time in quiet areas of the park or lots of breaks getting drinks and snacks lol.
