We will be staying at the BCV in May and are renting a car just to have one available. Do we walk to MGM and Epcot? I have heard that it is best to take Disney transportation to MK but should we drive to AK? What about Hoop Dee Doo Revue and Ohana's? Drive? As you can see we have no idea what we are doing! Are there any web sites that will help with this? We will have a 4 year old with us.

Easy answers: walk to EPCOT and walk (or boat) to Studios.

bus to Magic Kingdom.

Harder answers: (double connections)

Ohana's: Bus to MK, boat or monorail to Poly. Depends on time of day.

Hoop De Do: Bus to MK, boat to Campground. Time gets to be a factor here, as well as what time you are coming back. Even if you take a car to this one, there's still a bus transfer involved. There are alternate connections at night through Downtown Disney, but they are LONG!

Stay tuned: you will get lots of different answers to this one.

Beach Club is vey convenient for transportation.Epcot is very eay 5-10min. walk.People do walk to MGM,but it is probably 20min. or so which might not work with a 4 yr. old. Take the boat that is right at the dock between the Yaht and Beach Club. The bus is best for MK. For Animal Kingdom,we usually drive and to get to any other resorts driving is your best bet.Enjoy! :earboy2:

Is there some sort of disney map out there that tells you how to get to Hoop Dee Doo and Animal Kingdom? Thanks!

Walking to EPCOT is one of the joys of BCV.

We drive almost everywhere else.

Some people have reported that bus transportation to MK has improved. With a few more reports, we may do that.

But the boat to MGM doesn't run with great frequency and is slow once you're aboard. One son loves it though so we do it at least once per trip. However it is much faster to drive in our experience. Take a right out of the BC/BCV parking lot and you'll be there in a couple of minutes.

We drive to AK and to the Polynesian for meals.

I would also drive to HoopdeDoo. You will have to park at the outer parking lot and take an interior bus but it really doesn't take very long.

For the Hoop Dee Doo, there are a few things to keep in mind:

If you drive, you still need to take an internal bus to get to Pioneer Hall.

The route you use to get to Fort Wilderness will not be the same route that you use to get back home. At night, this can be daunting to some.

If you use Disney Transport:
To get to the Hoop, you will want to take the bus to the MK, and then the boat to FW. Or, you can take the boat to the Studios, and a bus directly to Pioneer Hall.

To get home, there will be Special buses at the pickup area. Just ask a bus driver which bus is the one for the Beach Club. No transfers required.

Just a note...
We had a very good experience driving to MK on EMH (for opening) and another day for an early PS (before park opening). Parking lot was empty, we got the first row and no need for a tram.

You might already know this, at BCV you may be very close to the self-parking lot. The hallway exits onto the parking lot. Our last trip we were three units from our car. Very handy.

Hey....who knew there were buses that are resort specific for after the show!!! Man, we took the bus to MK, then walked to CR, took the boat from the CR to FW. Going home we just reversed it all back to BWVs. What a dopeyhead. If I had only known!!!!

I think the busses are there BECAUSE MK is closed. If you were able to get back to you resort from MK, there wouldn't have been any resort busses at FW.

That could be. We did go to the middle show and since it was August the parks were open later. That must have been the case.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the buses run regardless of if MK is open or not.

goofy4tink, regardless if resort buses were there, you did not have to connect through CR. There is a boat directly from MK to WL/FW when MK is open.

We went to the earliest show of the Hoop in October and took the bus back to the TTC and walked "home" to the Polynesian. I didn't notice any resort buses while we waited for the TTC bus. I may have missed them but I think I would have noticed that many buses?!

It would be good to know this for certain.

There's typically only three buses. One for the AK area (ASR, AKL, CSR), one for the Studios area (Pop, CBR, Epcot Resorts) and one for the DTD area (SSR, OKW, POR, POFQ)

Ahhhhh, Tyler, if 'one who wears purple pants' could be mistaken, I think we're all in deep doodoo!!!! Pretty funny.

And yep, I know I could take the boat directly to MK but we love the walk thru CR and along the pathway. I know, kinda nutty.

LOL... I only add that because I'm not 100% sure, and don't want to have guests say, "But Tyler told me so!" lol

They recently restructured Fort Wilderness & the TTC hub. (Guest buses operate the same, it's just an internal restructuring of the bidlines) As such, I might only get into Fort Wilderness once a year.

I don't think it's nutty at all. I think all of us who so love WDW have special customs that are dear to our own families.

walk to EPCOt. this is what I love. Boat to MGM drive to MK drive to AK. or walk thru EPCOT to the monirail to MK.
