Wife may be headed down for conference at Coronado springs in march. Do we stay there for the week after the conf or move to another moderate? Port Orleans riverside ?? Looking for folks who have stayed in Coronado springs and compare with other mods?

Thanks

I've stayed at Coronado Springs for two conventions. DH met me after convention was over. We enjoyed it. Lovely resort, with nice amenities. Great food court, okay restaurant. About as far from the parks as any other moderate. Only downside is that it's pretty big. I would suggest that your wife request a room near the convention center; casitas 1, 2, 3 or cabanas 9aor 9b. There are five bus stops, but if your room is near El Centro, that is the last stop before the bus leaves for the parks.

I'm not a resort changer because it wastes time, IMO.

We have stayed in CSR and POR...I would stay at CSR. It was beautiful and we loved the pool area. The food court was great and we had great bus service there. We really enjoyed walking around the lake at night...peaceful. POR is also a beautiful resort so it's not like we didn't enjoy it...we simply preferred CSR. The buses at POR didn't seem to run as smoothly or as often...the lines were longer (and I am comparing the exact same weeks). We didn't like the food court as well and it didn't seem to be as efficient as CSR.
Check in was not easy at POR...they had messed up our reservations (we were traveling with a party of 12) and for some reason, all the rooms were linked but ours. She looked annoyed when I asked to be placed near the other rooms. They had us in AB and everyone else was in the Mansions section. They ended up accommodating us but she was not happy about it. She kept reminding me that the room I was given was an upgrade to a preferred building and kept asking if I was sure that I didn't want it. They also placed my parent's room on the 3rd floor and extremely far from the only elevator when it was noted that my dad had mobility issues. The manager was great but the desk CM was not.
What we disliked the most was there was no direct route anywhere...all the paths wind, which we didn't care for. Even unloading our car meant walking a winding path instead of right to the room. I will say that we enjoyed the boat ride to DTD. But overall, if I was spending time at a resort then I would not stay at POR.

We too have stayed at both CSR and POR. They are our two favorite mods, but POR gets the nod from us by a nose. Both are great resorts, but since we live in the southwest, the decor and landscaping of CSR isn't exotic to us. Plus, we like the POR food court and the relaxing boat ride to DTD.
