My DH, 2 DS and I will be visiting Disney in July for 5 days. I will be staying at a Disney resort so we thought we wouldn't need a rental car. However, we plan to visit SeaWorld for a day. We also need transportation to and from the hotel. Do we rent a car for a week, which we will only use to go and from the airport and to visit Seaworld? Or, should we get a towncar roundtrip airport ressi and rent a car for the one day we want to spend at Seaworld?

Any towncar service will transport you to and from the airport. (Lots of recommendations can be found on these forums.) There is also Mears shuttle/bus service available that services all of DW resorts I believe their booth is located outside the baggage pick up area.(haven't used them in a long while) If you are not in a rush to get to your resort, this is a fun way of seeing a few other resorts as they make the rounds to do drop offs. Weigh the costs of both and decide. As for SW, I have taken a cab (bell services can hail one for you) and it is a metered ride by distance (not per person)around 20.00 each way(+gratuity). The cabs are lined up at SW parking area for your return ride. Very easy and flexible to your schedule. There is also Mears shuttle to any of the attractions outside of DW. Guest services can help with this arrangement. Good luck, have fun! :wave2:

Thanks so much. I didn't realize how cheap the cab fare to SW is. We have a 7yr old & 15month-old. We are bring the baby's car seat along, since he will be using it during the flights, do we put that in the taxi too? We are staying at the Dolphin so I was thinking we should do the towncar service roundtrip and rent a car for a day at the Dolphin's onsite National Car rental. What do you think? Is just renting a car for the entire trip better? Your advice is appreciated.

The new magical express service will also be up a running by the time of your trip. This will give you free transportation to your hotel from this airport to Disney. Check out one of the other threads for more details.

The Magical Express will not be available for guests at the Swan or Dolphin. So you will have to use a Town Car service or Mears from the airport to your resort.
If it were me, I'd rent a car for the day to go to Sea World, It would give you more flexibilty.

Oh, a car seat is a horse of a different color. Absolutely a must for flying, town car services provide them upon request. As for the taxi, I would imagine it would be OK, but what would you do with it when you reach SW. I know they have lockers at the front gates, but unlikely the seat would fit. You could call them for other options. Is the car seat part of a stroller combo you are bringing? If so, you wouldn't have to worry about storing it at SW. I would lean toward renting a car for the day. Simplfy your trip. :flower:

Why not check out a car rental for the entire time? People are getting some awesome rates with National using Priceless and entertainment codes. By the time you pay for transp. both ways, then a one day rental, it might be worth it. Also, then you only have to install the car seats once for the whole week and you are done with it. It also might not be so easy using buses with such small children, especially after a long day at the parks.
