State park/hiking near Ventura,CA

Hi Disers! We are planning a 9 day trip to CA. Our first!!! We rented a beach house in Ventura, and are spending the last two days in DLR. Looking for state park/ hiking areas nearby. Also any other ideas you have for fun stuff!! I'm so worried we are going to miss so much.

Los Padres National Forest? Not sure if there are any developed trails close enough to where you'll be though.

Consider a drive to Ojai, they have nice trails and bike paths. Also a drive down the Rincon to Santa Barbara, there are trails there too, or a trip to the zoo has lots of walking LOL !
I personally would be pretty happy just walking the beach. One last though is a quick trip to the cross in ventura.....little walking paths but no hikes, but wil not swallow up a lot of time.
