Starwood upgrades

Hi everyone-

I can't tell you how much I enjoy reading this forum! Gives me that Disney Feeling all year long just reading about everyones wonderful trips!

My son and daughter and I will arrive at the Swan next Weds and are staying for 7 fantastic days. I've secured the 129 rate - and have my Starwood membership and platium card.....but here is my question.... I've written a request to the Swan for an upgrade to CL using my points - they wrote back and said to call conceriage 5 days prior to departure. Did that - but was told that they do not handle this, so to call Starwood. Did that - they can get me upgraded....but here is the rub....They say that an upgrade to CL is 1250 points. Is that true? I thought it was 750!! Did it increase recently??

A trip to the Swan is a wonderful thing - with or without an upgrade! So will be happy either way - just wondering if I missed something. Thanks for your help!

Gee, I hope that's not the case. I'm hoping for a SPG points upgrade for our trip in Feb. 2003 and I calculated the number of points needed as 750 per night. I got this from the SPG website. Are you sure they weren't upgrading you to a Balcony room. That would be 1250 a night.

I would call them again to double check. Good Luck!

From what you have said, it doesn't sound like anyone knows what is going on. I would call back and let them know that their website states upgrades are 750 points and see what happens.

CL upgrade is still 750 pts. It was on my most recent Starwood statement(on the back). In Starwood technical terms, upgrade to club is "specialty 1 upgrade". The person helping you must have been talking about the "specialty 2 upgrade" which is balcony/view. Apparently this mixup happens frequently. They really need to do some training in my opinion.

Hi everyone!

It has taken me forever to get back on-line, but at least I have great news to report

I called last Friday and spoke with at womon at Starwood who said that the Swan had upgraded and that I now needed 1250 points for a CL upgrade. I called back and Saturday and spoke to a really nice guy that said - nope 750 was all I needed. Unfortunately, he also said that all CL rooms in both hotels were booked up the 18-25 of December. So, following the advice in these boards - I called again on Sunday, and spoke to another really nice guy (so nice in fact, that he should be a cast member!). Anyway, he said that their were lots of rooms....and that he would give us the best one he could find - all for the 750 points! I recieved my confirmation stating this soon following the call.

Persistance pays!! So if you call them and things just don't sound right - call again!

We will be at the Swan this Weds afternoon!!!!!
