Starwood AMEX Promo question

Hi all. I got a promo w/Starwood AmEx stmt. saying "between 9/15-11/15, spend $100 or more at a Starwood prop. & earn 500 bonus pts., spend $1,000 or more and earn 5,000 bonus pts. etc" I have a res. at Dolphin for Feb 2004, if I called on 9/15 and asked them to charge $100 to my AmEx card toward that res.(already pd the deposit on another cc), would I get the 500 bonus pts? Thanks

my initial thought would be no. give *wood a call and ask, what do you have to lose?

Starwood might not know since its an Amex offer.

I did ask the question on Flyertalk. Perhaps they'll have an answer.
