starting a new postcard thread

After discussing this with the OP of the postcard thread, we have decided to phase out the old thread and start a new one.

The original intent was for returning cruisers to share the magic by sending postcards to children who were going to be cruising with DCL.

Unfortunately, it has turned into just a few regular DISers sending out lots of postcards, with very few recipients returning after their cruise to "pay it forward."

Most of the requests are from newbies, and I think they just don't understand the concept, because it isn't really expressed in detail in the current thread.

I'll try to keep up with requests until we can get a good system going between returning and future cruisers.

Thanks to everyone who has supported this project over the past year. We've received a lot of great messages about kids receiving their postcards. I hope we can keep it going.

Thanks for explaining the concept! I've been a member of the boards (but more of a "lurker") for a long time, and didn't understand the "pay it forward" nature of the thread.

I will be happy to pick up some extra postcards during the cruise and help out! Sounds like fun to me!

That said, could someone send postcards to my kids (DS13 and DD8), as well as the kids of two families (Family 1 - DS 13, DD10 and DD7; Family 2 - DS11) joining us on a November Western cruise?

I would love to help. I don't have any postcards and I am not going to be in FL for quite some time, but I would be willing to send stamps if you would like to PM me with your address. I would also be happy to pay for some cards and send them out if someone would be willing to send me some.

I would really love to help. My kids still have their card on the fridge - we received it almost a year ago. It is one of our treasures.
