Started officially doing my training program that eases me into running from walking on Monday.
DH got me an iPod nano and the Nike+ kit and helped me get it calibrated. (It was way off from his, guess cause I'm so short?) Anyway, it rocks!
(Despite the fact I've rung up a major bill on iTunes...
)
I was surprised to see how far I went on Monday. I was way off on what I thought I was walking before! I thought I was putting in about 18 miles a week, but after using this Nike+ and driving around to make sure it was right it appears I was averaging around 25 miles per week walking!
I'm signed up for my first 10K - Race for the Taste (I know small to you marathoners out there!) and I was a tad worried about staying within the 15 minute pace and not getting picked up by THE VAN, but it appears I'm well within the pace according to Nike+ even with me still doing more walking than running right now.
What an awesome and simple motivator. Maybe I won't die after all! Wish me luck!
