in june we'll be in rooms 7600,7602,and 7604. i think these rooms will work well since i have both grandmothers going now as well as two young adults in our group. my question is when the ship has been coming into port at st.martin, st thomas and cast. cay. how are the captains docking recently. last year at st. martin we were on the opposite side and unfortunatly we had to look out at the shipping containers, industrial barges etc. while there and didn't get to look out over the beautiful bay. i believe that the captains have to back into cast.cay these days... on our first ,he came in bow first. is that still true? in which case i think starboard will be a better view.
has anyone stayed in these rooms recently? i'm wondering about extra foot traffic out to the not-so-secret-private-deck-7 at aft now. especially re young people/teens. i know there used to be quite a bit of concern about what used to go on back there.

thanks...joyce

Here is our experience from the Dec. 1 Magic. We were on the Starbord side (7570).

On St. Maarten we pulled in forward so we had the view of the shipping containers and etc. (Although I still think we did better than those on the port side, all they had to look at was the Golden Princess, so you could go out on your verandah and see someone else on their verandah)

On St. Thomas we backed in, so we had a view across the water toward the downtown area.

On Castaway Cay we backed in, so we had a view of the Family Beach, snorkel course, etc.

When we went to St Maarten, we backed in, so from the port side, we had the same view that Rick had when they pulled in on his cruise.

At St Thomas they almost always back in, so you can pretty much count on a better view from the starboard side.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to whether the ship pulls in or backs into Castaway Cay. In fact, one lucky "mystery cruise" this past Fall got to visit Castaway Cay twice in the same week. One time they pulled in... the other time they backed in.
