I'm not sure if this is the right board to ask this, but does anyone know when star wars weekends are expected in 2007? My 6 year old is totally obsessed with all things star wars, and thought I wouod try and surprise him (and my husband) with a father-son weekend.

Thanks.

They haven't officially announced anything yet but it's usually the last two weekends in May and the first two weekends in June.

They have not annouced them, but there was some speculation for awhile that it may be moved to DL. I don't think that is the case, however

My son loves Star Wars Weekends. He is now too old to do the kid's things. There were so many great activities for the kids. There is Jedi Training, Kid's trivia contests, kid's in the parade, etc. There is usually a registration table across from Drew Cary's Sound Dangerous. It's best to hit that registration table early and register for what your son wants to do. In past years the kids got a small action figure for participating.

Is it a mob scene?

It can be, depending on who the special guests are for any particular weekend. Even with the crowd, it's a great time.

You mean, like a Wokie or Harrison Ford? :rotfl2:

Are the dates usually within "peak" season?

it's rumored that it's going to more to a different time of year, because the first weekend that would be Star Wars weekend there is a big thing going on at the Lucas Ranch for the 30th anniversary

That would be awesome!

Actually, Peter Mayhew (who played chewbacca) was a special guest one of the weekends this past event. He's a good sport!

Ugh..I hadn't heard that one. I'm hoping that is not the case as we planned our May trip so that we could be there on what we thought would be the first Star Wars weekend. That being said, there is also a huge Star Wars convention in Los Angeles memorial day weekend. I had heard some mention that there may be not be a Star Wars weekend at WDW over Memorial day because of that.

Anyway, I hope they keep things the way it's been in past years and still have the weekends be the last 2 weekends of May and the first two in June. I'm going to have a very disappointed husband if that proves not to be the case.

vbalacek, be sure to let your son build his own light saber at Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney. "Boys" of all ages seem to be getting a kick out of that.

Thanks for all of the posts! It sounds like heaven for my son (and husband).

I can't wait until they post the dates!

I wish they would tell us now, the air fare out of Cleveland is great for that time of year. I just don't want to buy it then find out I need to change and pay more anyway.

Here are some pics of Star Wars fun for kids.

Beware if you have a light side light saber on the dark side, you may get confronted by relentless storm troopers. You might be refused passage or challenged to a fight, until you surrender or win.
