Star Wars weekend activities

Does anyone, by any chance, have a clue about the times of the parade and other special activites for Star Wars weekend at MGM this year??!!! I want my DH and DS to experience it all! Any tips would be appreciated.

Check out last years times at www.galactichunter.com/sww04/ for times. The disneyworld web site has got some information on their Disney Studios Star Wars weekends link. Another source is www.starwars.com in their community section. We are going for the first Star Wars weekend along with seeing the midnight screening opening night at DowntownDisney Pleasure Island AMC 24. This is our Disney/Star Wars trip of a lifetime. You can also find some info at www.mgmstudios.org which is run by Quick Gold who is a frequent poster on the DIS. Hope this helps. 3 weeks to go.

I am wondering about this too. My DS is a huge Star Wars fan and would be very excited to see this. Where is the best place to be for the parade and where do they do the meet and greets? We will be there the last weekend of the Star Wars weekends.

All I can say is arrive early!! We did the first weekend opening last yr.and it was great!! When you enter the park they will give you a print out of the activities of the day...times of parades and the autograph areas. We also had the kids participate in the Jedi knight program for kids. It was over by the Star Wars ride. The area is roped off and they pick about 20 kids from the audience to train them to be jedi knights...then after training they get to fight Darth Vader himself!! It was great fun to see the smiles on the kids faces!! They recieve a jedi knight certificate and small gift after it is done. They do this several times a day, so your kids have a real good chance of being chosen!! The parade is great. I think last year it was around 10am. Then they have several areas located mainly down by Star Wars ride for you to get your picture taken and autographs with the some of the characters. We had great pics with Chewbacca!!

We'll be at WDW over May 28-29 weekend, and while not hugely into Star Wars ourselves, we have friends who would love to be there but can't travel this year (expecting their first baby...). We want to surprise them with some of the SWW exclusive souviners (posters, t-shirts, etc.), but had not planned on being at MGM either Saturday or Sunday. MGM is supposed to be open Sunday PM for EMH - does anyone know if the Star Wars merchandise unique to the SWW will still be available during the EMH, or should we change our plans and get there during the day to get the loot for our friends? We really want to surprise them, since they're disappointed to not be there this year.
