Hi,

My understanding is that they are doing some changes to Disneyland for Star Wars attractions. Is this true (or is it just DW) and if so, when is it expected?

Hi Frozen2014.

Yes, they are building a 14-acre Star Wars Land at Disneyland, and we don't know the timing yet - 2020 or before, if we're lucky.

Here are things happening now: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events-tours/disneyland/star-wars/

Here are some articles about the new land, plus there are posts here where we discuss it.

I typically Periscope (maryjomw) views of the construction when I go to Disneyland. I expect to go this Thursday afternoon, so I'll be Periscoping construction activity to date.

Attractions involving the Rivers of America are closed, including Tom Sawyer's Island, and Fantasmic! The Railroad is also closed. Most of them are due to be opened up again in early April 2017. Rumor has it that the new Star Wars Land could be open by December of 2017 to coincide with the release of Star Wars VIII. I'm somewhat saddened by the TSI closure, as I'm taking my 10 year old special needs son in June, and that's one attraction I'm sure he really would have enjoyed. There is Mickey's Toontown, but I've never been there, so can't say he'd like it for sure.
