Star Wars-themed land just announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park!

sounds really cool and love how interconnected they seem to be planning to make everything (the shops, rides, restaurants, etc.)

I do hope there are some unique elements to each park though and not 100% duplicates

This is exciting news! For some reason the original reports I saw online had only talked about a Disneyland announcement, I was getting worried that DHS was not included.. Now that this is confirmed, the next big question is, what will be the new replacement name of DHS?

Ideally, the only hollywood themed area would be where Tower/RocknRoller area is. Everything else is expendable...except the Great Movie Ride. I don't think they will get rid of that.
I suppose they will still carry a central hollywood (or at least FILMS theme throughout).

But anyho, this is really awesome news! I was so curious to know what the overall setting w ould be for thel and. Tattooine is the one featured the most in the movies, and it could be a realistic setting for a space-port-outpost (with Mos Eisley Cantina!!), but it makes sense to be it's own area.

They will have to get rid of the Ewok forest in front of Star Tours, though (or at least revamp it). And I'd imagine they'd get rid of the AT-AT (hopefully just re-locate it if anything).

Has any time frame been announced for either of the SW expansions or the TSL expansion?
And I've not been, but I was under the impression that DL didn't have much room left, was it announced where at DL it's going to be put?

I have no idea how they can do that. All I see is this:

There's no way in hell they would touch Space Mountain.
Any other expendable attractions in Tomorrowland are just not in spots where it makes sense to connect to Star Tours.

It almost doesn't even make sense!
Thematically it would fit in better at California Adventure, even if they were to transfer Star Tours over there.

I DONT KNOW BUT ITS VERY EXCITING

Keep in mind they said 14 acres so no way it can fit in next to Space Mountain. From what I have gathered - based on rumors tied to new property they have bought - is that land north of the park will be used while rehearsal space and the animals that are stored in those areas are moved to new buildings in the new land they bought ... so roughly here:

Some of the artist impressions look amazing, especially with the Millenium Falcon. It will be interesting how they will incorporate the new land with the theming of 1950s Main St at Hollywood Studios and wonder if they will bring Indiana Jones Adventure to the Studios.

But...Star tours tho!
The only reason they are probably even doing it in DL in the first place is star tours. I dont see why they would build a star wars land all the way in toon town and have star tours waaay in tomorrowland.

Not sure if this was based on any knowledge or just his personal thoughts, but on yesterdays DISunplugges show Craig speculated that Star Tours would close at Disneyland

This would be uh mazing

With Star Wars and Toy Story coming into DHS, does this mean that 50's Prime Time Cafe and Hollywood and Vine will be removed? Or will these stay with the Hollywood Blvd theme and be available going forward after the revamp of the park?

The land will be built where Big Thunder Ranch is now. It will not be built in Toontown or Tomorrowland.

That puts it perilously close to the fireworks launch point.
