I don't mind the trailer dissection more what I'm dreading is seeing the Walt Disney Pictures logo before it. I think that may drive a lot of Star Wars fans away, at least ones that aren't Disney fans.
Nope! Bring it on again, and again, and again, and again, and again...Christy said that I looked like a 6 year old that was plastered to the TV (apple TV) watching the trailer. And I had that same feeling of excitement that I had when I was 6 and watching the trailer for the first time.

I don't think there is anything, especially a Disney logo at the front of the film, that will keep a real Star Wars fan away...we suffered through JarJar and Ewoks didn't we

I loved the excitement of original trailer. While I was more than a little sarcastic with the "burnout" comment, I did find the trailer unsettling and I have been trying to figure out why. I could care less about the broad sword light saber. I don't like what they have done to the Falcon. I think I miss the old days when real models were used. The Falcon didn't look real; it looked too computer generated. I know modern movies heavily rely upon CGI. I have no problem with that. The Da Vinci Code used CGI for the interior of a late baroque church (St. Sulpice) and made it look authentic (even if not entirely accurate). And yes, I know, we are talking about a fictional universe where nothing is real but I want to believe.
I think that if Abrams makes a mess of Star Wars, he will never hear the end of it.
The Original is still there to enjoy. And if you want to talk about not well aged watch the scene with the Rancor again. It look fake there. I was kinda of astonished. I still love it but it has not aged well. (The rancor scene not the movie) Return of the Jedi is still a really good movie
I think if you are going to compare it to the original you are going to end up disappointed.
Sort of like comparing Disney World to Disneyland.![]()

It hides beneath the rose....
At least we will get some new John Williams' Leitmotifs!!!! I am not sure it will be LSO playing, but LA has some great groups and studio players. John Williams went into the Studio on November the 15th to record the music for the trailer.
My whistle has been made sufficiently wet.

It's not really trailer related however I see the biggest problem to be competing with the juggernaut that is Marvel and The Avengers which is ironic considering they are Disney franchises.
I'd be more worried about a cross-over in the franchises.
A Jedi Hulk, or Darth Loki.
It's happened before:![]()
