Since apparently Star Wars Land is supposed to be discussed at the upcoming D23, what are the prevailing ideas (or wish-lists) for the rides that could be created??

I was thinking today about how much fun this ride would be:
Speeder bike ride. It could move on a track (like a single-rider coaster), but you could lean from side to side (like a motorcycle) to avoid being shot at. You could rack up points for shooting things and for avoiding being shot. The game could be random (in terms of being shot at - not being the same every time.) Also, there could be a twin speeder next to you that you compete against - it could go on a separate track (that occasionally separates from you to go around a tree or an enemy speeder....)

So this ride could be like a motorcycle video game you'd ride at the arcade, except you actually go on a track like a coaster. And instead of a fixed screen like Star Tours or Soarin, you actually move through different scenes physically.

whatcha think? I think I heard this or something like this could be one of the possibilities.....

Obviously, the ride vehicle would look like a speeder, but seat like Space mountain - strapped in and secure.

A roller coaster on Mustafar.

What the heck is a Mustafar?

I know, I know...not from original three. I only saw the classics.

Just a roller coaster, though? I mean, there's already RnRC and TT for "thrills" at HS, but as evidenced by the wait times at TSMM, not much else that most of the family can do. Granted my speeder ride wouldn't be for "all ages" because of the inevitable darkness, mild speed, and shooting, but I'd think at least ages 9-60?

Oh, and it can be a two-seater if you like. Kid could sit upfront, parent right behind them...for the younger riders or couples who would prefer to ride it together?

I would want one ride from each movie...

I - Trade Federation Battleship Air Duct Tour
II - Naboo Shaak/"Cow" Rodeo Simulator
III - Galactic Senate Podium Spin
IV - Death Star Garbage Chute Slides
V - Dagobah Swamp Cruise
VI - Sarlacc Pit Gullet Flume

That's all I've got for now.

I am such a Star Wars geek...let me think...

Part of the problem is that I'm not a huge fan of simulated rides. Not that Star Tours isn't awesome, I just wouldn't want a whole bunch of rides like it. I much prefer dark rides because of all the work that goes into creating them.

There is an evil part of me thinking "It's a Small World". On Endor. With Ewoks. If that doesn't make you homicidal, nothing will.

The one ride I can think of immediately would be those spinning turrets from when Luke and Han shoot at the Imperial fighters in Star Wars. Sort of like TSMM, but with imperial fighter targets in the dark and spinning around you like a planetarium.

I think everyone would want a pod racing one, but that would have to be simulated. And make it feel hot and windy!

Coaster ride that simulates making the jump to hyperspace, but ooops, we have it already, it's called Space Mountain :rolleyes1

You could do something with Dagobah. I think that would be a dark ride, it would be nice if you could try and raise the tie fighter out of the swamp, but not sure how that one would work, perhaps just as a ride through?

You'll need somewhere to eat. How about either a Mos Eisley or Jabba's Palace themed restaurant?

For fun, how about a dating game-style skit where Princess Leia quizzes potential stormtroopers? Q: Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper? A: I'm here to rescue you!

Perhaps a pirates-like dark ride that takes you through the main scenes of the classic first three films?? Complete with action scenes (like ship battle at beginning of POTC)

One of the problems Disney is going to have to address is finding a central hub, like Cinderella Castle or Spaceship Earth. Unfortunately, you guessed it-the only thing I can think of that SCREAMS Star Wars is the Death Star! I was picturing a dark ride like Spaceship Earth, only with scenes from the movies instead. All I can say is animatronics are getting better by the minute and they'd better bolt Han Solo down good-'cause the ladies love that scruffy nerf herder.

As cool as it sounds, the fact that the Death Star is something EVIL just turns me off on the idea. It's really hard to think of a large, immediately recognizable building (or prop) from the Star Wars trilogy.

Death Star sounds good to me! So what if its evil...there were rumors of villains land or beastly kingdom. The pirates on POTC are "ne'er do wells," right?

It will also need a character dining location. Cloud city restaurant with Darth Vader and henchman. :-)

Even I would be interested in a character meal! Not usually going to go out of my way for Winnie the Pooh, stitch, goofy etc.... But Darth, Yoda, Chewbacca,& And if they can get people that look like Han Solo or Princess Leah as they did in 1978? That would be great!

The Johnny Depp look-alike on castaway Cay was pretty convincing&
