Star Wars land details to be announced on ABC special

I like that Disney's doing all these TV specials but being in school I hate that if you miss one you'll never see it again. I have yet to see the new Toy Story one. Although since this'll be park-related it'll be all over the web the next day

I don't think this will be anything to raise and eyebrow about.

I'm guessing a 10 second add with a picture or two and a TFA digital/bluray plug.

I get it...Disney tries to channel the old wonderful world of Disney vibe from the 50's and 60's with these every so often...but they don't really deliver any "news" on them...sites like the disboards report these things, as well as he local papers, within seconds of their availability. It's a headfake...me thinks.

Do you think this could be related that rumor a few weeks ago that Disney would announce the official name of the land sooner rather than later?

That could be it. An official name could be something I see announced here. Details on rides and stuff I don't see happening. Maybe a new concept picture as well.

I have my fingers crossed that we will get some amount of detail here, especially if they are paying Harrison Ford the big bucks to present this section. Though as rteetz stated, Disney are often very vague, we still don't have that many details on AVATAR at Animal Kingdom and that is more than halfway through construction!

Let's just see if they actually release anything worth while. Sometimes Disney can be vague.

Sometimes? :D

A preview like that will probably be a disappointment to anyone who tracks boards like these ones. If it's going on network tv then it's going mainstream and honestly all most people know is:

"Hey Disney bought Star Wars and they're going to put it in the park!"

We might get a few new crumbs but it's not like they're going to get into the nitty gritty of timelines, park maps, ride capacity etc. That's fine, not everything should be targeted to the super obsessive fan after all.

I would think one small detail may be revealed in this special. At the very least, it will be a fun special to watch. What stinks is I am going to be in the air while the special is airing.

Even if they release the most vague detail about Star Wars land, the show should be interesting. A theme park enthusiast I follow was at Disneyland during the recordings and it looks like it will be fun.

Harrison Ford doing this? Does that seem odd if he was just in it for the money one and done type thing? Regardless I'm happy to see him again.

He's in it for the money and it will just be a small segment of a larger show.

We'll be tuning in for sure! Of course, my wife will be interested just because Derek Hough is hosting. :cheer2:

Harrison ford got what was quite possibly the sweetest deal for an actor in Hollywood history...

$25 mil...which is nice, but probably chump change compared to the percentage he also receives and undoubtedly will continue to receive till death and beyond.

Nobody knows what that "piece" is...but if Johnny depp gets $40 mil for Jack sparrow...then the percentage is probably ridiculous in true dollar value.

Well he did pass Samuel Jackson for highest grossing actor about a month ago.
