One thing that was pointed out is that "Jedi" is also the plural form so it could be like Luke and Rey are together the last Jedi.

Good point with the red outline Ryno - definitely associate red with the Sith

Regarding the DIS pop, I thought it was an insightful video. I also thank the Maker that it's not about midichlorians....
I enjoy hearing ideas and thoughts from a knowledgable fan. I was glad to hear various hypotheses regarding the title origin, and resonated with most of them.

My thoughts - pure speculation. At the beginning of the film, they find Luke (we know that already), the last Jedi (singular). He's the central figure in the film. Maybe he trains more Jedi (one would assume Rey, but hey, who knows) during the film, and they, collectively, are the last Jedi (plural.)
