Not surprised. I'm sure it was a crazy dash and frustrated refreshing from multiple groups:
1. Disney Bloggers who want the scoop on the new fireworks shows.
2. Local Star Wars fans, who want the movie, character meet and greets, and fireworks.
3. Visiting Star Wars fans who got lucky with the date.
4. Casual fans who thought it could have been a nice gift for star wars obsessed kids.

I would also bet that about a week before thee movie, Disney Parks Blog will do a special meet up or raffle to fill some additional seats or get access to the party.

I scored three tickets at Disney Springs for the release. My son and husband are huge Star Wars fans and I scheduled this trip around the release date since my son only goes with us every couple of years now (he's 23). Booked BWV at the 7 month mark thinking something may happen at DHS. My husband is stoked - my son will be shocked. Keeping it a surprise. I was hoping they would do SOMETHING for the release at the park, but didn't think we'd get to do a little (expensive) party. Woohoo!

Now that a few days have gone bye, I can see why theaters did not all jump on holding marathons. Ours in Rochester NY still has tickets available. Seems that not a lot of people are ready to commit $50 per person to sit from 3am to 10pm on a Thursday. But my daughter and I will be there!
