Does anyone know when the AMC advance sales will open for Episode VII at the Disney Springs theater? Also, are there any rumors about a special midnight première?

Rumors are that advance tickets for episode VII will begin on October 19 for numerous theater chains across the country. Also rumors are that the first full length trailer for episode VII will be released on 10/19/15!

I would assume there will be a midnight showing on Thursday, if not earlier in the night. I've been seeing a lot of 8PM showings the night before lately.

Following. I might have to ditch the wife and DD(2) to make a 12/18 midnight showing... (don't worry.. she'd be cool with it).

I wish they would go with a true midnight showing, but they will not. They want to get the extra cash from multiple showings starting at 7, and then again at 9:30 and Midnight. More people come the 7pm premieres and it is the new normal. MAYBE since Star Wars is so huge and could sell out multiple theaters at midnight anyway they will do it. But Normally they just have multiple screenings after 7, and they want to maximize opening weekend ticket sales as much as possible.

We were in WDW when PotC At World's End opened and there were showings at 7 or 8 pm that we went to. It was a zoo (in a good way) with wall to wall people and roaming pirates and wenches interacting with the crowds. I expect Episode VII would be even wilder.

Looks like pre-sales are being released on Monday (but possibly as early as tomorrow at 8am.. this is the due time for ticketing information to be uploaded on the system, but they may delay release until Monday)

Anyways, there should be a 7-movie marathon beginning with Episode I at 4am on the 17th, leading up to the 7pm premeir of Episode VII (haha get it...7 at 7) another showing in the 9:00pm hour, then of course full release at midnight on the 18th.

Anticipated cost for a marathon pass is around $50.

If the marathon is offered at my local theater, I'm in!

The announcement of special theater promos went on starwars.com a few days ago, with a list of theaters across the US that will have marathons. I'm feeling a bad cold coming on for that day, cough, cough

Lol...

They're showing it in studios...the movie and star tours....7 days before Christmas...

For $100 a person.

"rapacious, soul less company"

No they are showing it at AMC in Disney springs then you must provide your own transportation to the after party at DHS. Where then you get to experience Launch bay and preview the season of the force fireworks.

Oh...in that case...I like it less.

At least they are doing the fireworks gig.

This upsell makes actually way more sense than most. I would probably think about doing that if I was there...

It's just really the patten that looks low rent.

Not a single theater in South Carolina is showing the marathon! Can I cry now?

It's not a huge list...to be fair

Nothing at pleasure island? Is that a joke?

There's only one in my state - second most densely populated state with 11 million people...
There is one about 25 miles away in Pa though...

Will be at Disney for the event, looks like I may have to ditch wife and daughter, problem is the Studios event to 2:00am....

WAIT!!!! There will no no rides operational???????????

***!

Have to seriously think about this now!!!!

Trust me, that will change. I think most major theaters will offer a marathon, just like they always do for the Avengers movies, Harry Potter, and even Hunger Games. Count on it.

True...they could be gauging interest...

On the other hand...they know they'll make a fortune off the general release anyway and the theater chains don't like to spend an extra penny if they don't have too
