Sitting through the mindless drivel of Star Wars Epi II (what bad acting!!!) because I'm too lazy to get up and find "World Idol"...

Does Anakin Skywalker become a Jedi Knight in Star Wars Epi III (now in post-production and due to come out in 2005...makes me doubt they will make Star Wars 7, 8 and 9)?

I think he does.

PS. A test of your ability to sustain a fluff debate.

I'm pretty sure he does. I read somewhere that this movie shows how he becomes Darth Vader, which means he has to be a Jedi first.

Just an educated guess... he is shown be a Jedi at the beginning of the movie (training completed betwen II and III) and most of the movie shows him turning on Kenobi and aligning with the Sith. For spoilers go to the many SW sites and check out the pics available. The pics alone show you what the movie will most likely contain.

You're not kidding about the bad acting. Whoever decided to hire the actor who played Anakin should be fired.

I thought SW I was good. Saw it in the movies. Glad I didn't drop a dime on that train wreck SW II.

I will admit that I watched it a second time and it wasn't as bad as watching it the first time.

DH says he believes that Anakin Skywalker does indeed become a jedi knight then goes over to "the dark side" and becomes Darth Vader all in Episode III.

Don't follow the SW wesites or anything, but I thought I heard Lucas say in an interview once that he does not intend to make 7,8 and 9 but instead has authorized various book treatments and the like.

BTW......ditto the bad acting comment. At least the "young unknowns" they used in the first movie series had at least a modicum of skill.

Yea, I still think about those cute cinnamon buns on Carrie Fisher.

You're even including Mark Hamill?

I live with a little SW junkie, so I'm the unfortunate owner of
an AOTC dvd, which I have had to suffer through too many times to count. The ugly truth is that the actors are not wholly to blame (though I have to agree that as an actor, HC is right up there with Bill Shatner in terms of talent.) Ewan MacGregor is one of the best actors of his generation, and Natalie Portman has been on critics' to-be-watched-carefully list for years now. It isn't their fault.

The real problem with AOTC is Lucas' delusion that he's a universally talented scriptwriter. He REALLY needs to wake up from this dream and admit that he needs help with dialogue, and he *especially* needs to completely stop trying to write love scenes. (Wouldn't hurt if he'd keep his pencil in his pocket in terms of costuming, either!)

Chant with me now: We want Larry Kasdan! We want Larry ...

PS: For the OP, here's a photo that should answer that question:

I asked DS8 his opinion - DS is addicted to SW's. When most toddlers are watching Disney films, he was watching SW's....his first full sentence was "Luke I am your father"....

Anyway - his response: "In the pictures they show of the movie in the making in my Star Wars Insider Magazine, his Padawan braid is gone, so, of course he's a Jedi Knight!"

Sounds like a logical deduction to me.....
