Does each ship have the same Star Wars characters?

Which characters are/were available?

Are the Star Wars cruises leaning more toward early Star Wars or later Star Wars? Do they cover all Star Wars at all times?

I hope to embroider some thing for the entire family. I’m thinking R2D2 won’t be there and probably not that little white robot either(yeah I know he’s got a name and I’m kind of clueless. But I can tell you every princess name and what color dress she wore in any part of the movie!) Also assuming that Yoda? is not there?

I believe the Star Wars characters are only on the Star Wars specifically themed cruises.

We’ve never met any SW characters outside of the SWDAS on Fantasy. While they have some characters from the animated series, most characters are from the Episodes IV-VI. You might also encounter Rey, Kylo Ren and Darty Maul.

We haven’t seen any droids or Yoda, but they might have added some in the last two years ?

We did a cruise with SWDAS in 2018. There were 3 ticketed meet/greets- Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and C3PO/R2D2. My daughter did Jedi training in the theater. They were split into 2 groups to battle Vader or Kylo Ren. In the afternoon, every hour there was a skit/show with several characters and Storm Troopers wandered the pool deck. There was a show before fire works that night but I don't remember the characters.

In addition to the ones mentioned above, for our 2019 SWDAS around the ship we encountered Rey, Asoka, Jawas, and Boba Fett. And there was a scavenger hunt with BB-8 and the Porgs. I think you could embroider any of the Star Wars characters and it would fit in!

You didn't see any droids because "These weren't the droids you were looking for"... lol

Yes, I will be on a Star Wars themed cruise. So I wanted to match outfits and have special shirts embroidered according to the characters that will be on the ship.

Chewbacca and Darth Vader will definitely be there.

Just remember it is ONE DAY and not the whole cruise. The other days will be normal cruise days.

They really don’t do much from the Prequels, and pre-COVID, they were definitely pushing the Sequel trilogy characters because that’s what they had in theaters.

With the exception of Rey, they also tended to skew more toward masked characters - who they didn’t have to find a decent face match. So Vader, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Imperial and First Order Stormtroopers, Phasma, Artoo, Threepio and BB-8. They also had Seventh Sister as part of the Jedi training activity, and a Gamorrean Guard mixing in the lobby for photo ops. I think they also had Jawas and Sand People running around, but I never saw them first-hand.

They also have “generic” Jedi and Imperial/First Order officers milling about.

I would guess when SWDAS comes back, we will also see Din Djarin, Boba in his new costume, Fennic Shand and maybe Ahsoka.

@Snowwhyt - I know all that above nerdlish probably went over your head, but suffice it to say that Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 (the little white and orange ball robot) are all probably solid bets to appear on the cruise.

I was just addressing the fact that Star Wars themed cruises are only on one ship - the Fantasy.
Had no idea about that. Does some other ship have the Marvel days? I was always hoping my Magic and Wonder cruises would not suddenly be announced as a Star Wars cruise. I try to purchase on opening day and the announcements come later. Haven’t followed that movie line since the first movie. But now going to make the best of it and try and make the day special some how.

Marvel Day at Sea is on the Magic. From the DCL website:

available on select 5-night cruises from Miami to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.

Thank goodness! I had no idea. I thought the whole thing was going to be Mickey in different Star War costumes. Like each day a different movie kind of thing. Happy it’s there for the fans though.

We're on a 7 night Fantasy in Feb with Star Wars day at Sea. Weve been an all 4 ships before but this will be our first SWDAS. I have no idea what to expect, especially with it being post covid.

I just know some people who went when it first started and though it said Day they kinda thought there would be things every day still. But it really is focused to that day.

The main Star Wars events and roaming characters are all on one day. However, they do sometimes offer the Vader, Chewbacca, R2/C3PO meet and greets on other days to allow more people to see them (I imagine this will be true again this coming year, especially if they continue with the extra spacing due to covid). These require pre-selected reserved times so we chose to pick ours to be on the Star Wars Day so that we could dress in our Star Wars outfits for just the one day.

It is true again this coming year, at least for my February 5th cruise.

Yep, we are going 1/15 and the sign-ups for Darth Vader, Chewy, R2D2 and C3PO open tomorrow - they are on days 5, 6, and 7.

We were on a SWDAS on the Fantasy in January 2020. There was a cute little Darth Vader/Storm Trooper "show" after dinner in the atrium on the night before the day at sea. They announced they believed there were rebel spies on the ship and they were there to find them and keep things in order. Then the next day there was much ado on the pool deck as the storm troopers and other Empire loyalists were scouring for rebels. Not sure if those things will happen post covid. We had opportunities to sign up to meet some of the characters before hand but many were roaming around all day. I'm not a huge SW fan but truly found that day very entertaining!
