Star Wars A Galactic Spectacular Fireworks - How to Claim Spot?

I'm excited that the added the Star Wars fireworks during our Christmas visit. I had planned on viewing them using the dessert party, but since they aren't offering the party I'm trying to figure out how to navigate it.

I'm not very familiar with Hollywood Studios. I've seen some great maps on where to stand for the best viewing, but how to we claim our spot? Do we just stand in the middle of the road 45 minutes prior to show time? Do they block off viewing areas to wait in?

Alternatively, I'm wondering about the area near Min and Bills. Can we hear the music and see some projections? I'm ok with that if it is a less crowded spot.

Thanks for any advice!

I would invite you to look at the SW thread (link in my signature) first page has info on SWaGS and best spots to view.
45 min will probably not give you the best spot. It will have to be at least an hour. Some people bring blankets to "claim spots" if you have family members that will be coming and going. If your whole party will wait then just stand or sit.
They do have taped off areas to watch and walkways.
Min and Bills is not the best spot, you will lose a lot of the projections and this show relies heavily on projections and laser and fire effects
