When the new starwars land opens is Star tours coming down? I'm asking because when you see the new shots from the air you really notice the distance between the two.

I wouldn't be surprised if that'll be involved in the next phase of changes once Galaxies Edge opens up...I've also heard/read that the Animation Courtyard's days are numbered, might expand out into a new area behind Sunset Blvd. All rumors and conjecture though, nothing confirmed.

Is star tours not as popular as WDW as it is in Disneyland? I dont see how they could get rid of it considering how many people still love it.

It's popular but ride times are way down these days, I think because it truly is a very low tech simulator. And they are building a new flight simulator so it makes no sense to have two, one outside SWL. Maybe they will do a layover with another IP, but my guess is bigger plans for the area.

HS has so few things to do the whole park is skipped by many who visit. lines all around are lower.

I don't know if I go with that. ST lines have been shorter for years, long before closures. I can't even remember the last time the line was even in the first large room, we usually walk straight through to what we call the R2D2 room, where you ramp up.

ToT has some crazy long lines at times, and RnR is never short. TSMM was greatly helped by the third track and the rest is primarily shows.

Backlot Express too? It is truly the only place to get a decent FF burger in DHS so that's disappointing.

We are only discussing and rumoring ...
So say ....
- ST is closed.
- Indiana Jones is OLD and rumored forever to close.
- Backlot is in between them.
- Decent chunk of land could become something new.

Is that an option because I didn't think I could want a ride more than the Monster's Inc roller coaster but you topped it

In my imagination it is! But I think it would be so much fun!!!! The pre-ride rooms could be so creative and cool.

I LOVE Muppets and would like the courtyard expanded. There is so much potential for a top notch area. I want a Kermit and more Meet & Greet. I want an overlay to Mama Melrose as Swedish Chefs ..... My gut doesn't trust Disney to do them right.

Maybe they could use that area for more Muppets stuff. I could see a few new attractions and maybe a re-theme of the Backlot Express. There's also 50's Primetime and Hollywood & Vine nearby...

I realize that all of this is just conjecture.

That all sounds AMAZING I love the muppets the saddest moment my first trip to DHS was going to Muppets Courtyard and the only thing being the movie I would LOVE to see it expanded. I heard a podcast where they were talking about plans for a muppet themed swamp restaurant that got pretty far in development that I would have loved to see. The Muppets don't get the love or attention they should.

I'm more in the camp of ST gets a new none SW overlay. And the muppets idea isn't bad!

My son is barely 40" so it would suck if they closed ST and the new SW ride had a higher height minimum..

Think you have a couple years until it happens... should be taller by then right ?

Star Tours is expected to close at Disneyland as well. They specifically singled out that Star Tours at DL would not be moved and included when the new land was announced.

It's expected to get rethemed for another attraction at DL ir DCA.

I could forgive them for closing Star Tours if (and only IF):
1. They waited til after June 10, 2018 so I can ride it one more time (Epcot was nice enough to keep Captain EO open until I had a chance to see it, so a guy can hope...)
2. They retheme it as a Pigs in Space ride (Swinetrek Tours?)
3. They open something newer and better in Galaxy's Edge when it is finished

I know it's supposedly an outdated ride, but I still think it's awesomesauce and it still has some life left in it. But I do understand the need for progress. I guess we'll see what happens.
