We'll be visiting DL this summer and I was wondering if there's a store near Star Tours that sells Star Wars merchandise. I've looked all over the DL website and can't find a list of stores in the parks, only DTD.

Thanks :thumbsup2

The exit of the ride store(can't think of the name) sells some merchandise. Hubby bought a light saber(make your own) last July that he just had to have. They had some t-shirts and they had backpacks with SW characters also. Can't remember what else they had...sorry

Yes, you exit Star Tours right into the Star Wars themed store. There are make-your-own lightsabers, a number of Star Wars toys you can find cheaper in Target and Wal-Mart, and some more uniquely Disney Star Wars merchandise including Star Wars action figures of Disney characters, Star Wars potato heads, t-shirts, hats, pins, backpacks, plastic coin banks, bobbleheads, plushes, children's costumes, and collectible items. There is also a place to get your photo inserted into a Star Wars themed picture backdrop; I think they moved that to the store that now takes up half the arcade space.

When you are exiting the Star Tours ride, you walk right through the store. If you haven't gone on the ride and you want to go in the store, it is located between the Star Tours ride and Space mountain. I think they call the store "Star Trader"

Perfect, thank you. It sounds just like the one at WDW. My son is already planning on what he's going to buy in July. ;)

Yes, the store is Star Traders. They do have other items in the main part of the store but the back near the ST exit it's all Star Wars stuff. :)

Making a suggestion...make sure you know the normal-store prices for the more typical SW stuff, the ones that Hasbro makes, etc. For instance, the typical basic lightsaber by Hasbro can be had in stores for as low as $7 or $8. But it's something like $12 at Disney. Better to bring your own in that case.

On the other hand, DS got a set of 4 figures that were released with...oh gosh some not-so-new-anymore release of something, and the price was LESS than what I could get elsewhere (once you included shipping, in some cases).

So know your prices, so you know what can be gotten at home and not transported home, or so you know a bargain if you come across one.

I had to google the "make your own light saber" and found this -- it look so fun!!

Thank you for posting this link! I showed my husband and 6 y/o son and now they both want to save their money to make their own light sabers together, hehe. I'm so glad DL has Star Tours, my oldest is obsessed with anything Star Wars, and my youngest absolutely loves Mickey - they will both be in heaven at DL :D

I agree with the posts above. If the merchandise is generic Star Wars, you can find it much less expensive elsewhere.

What is neat about Star Traders is the Star Tours and Star Wars/Disney themed merchandise (along with the build your own lightsaber stand).

While we were there last week, my daughter picked up a couple of Star Wars vinylmations (long story about how we finally tracked them down, since they've been sold out for a while), she built her own lightsaber, and she bought a stormtrooper (eating a mickey head ice cream bar) bobblehead.
