Does anyone know about this stuff?
Maybe someone works for Staples and can explain the advantages over Square Trade for me... I find the fine print very confusing.

I feel I should buy something considering that I am on my 4th Kindle in 10 days, and they are now talking about cracks showing up on the graphite Kindles.

I bought my Kindle 3G w/wifi at Staples (with a $30 of $150 coupon). It had screen burn or what they call ghosting. I called Amazon and after a few questions and a reboot they deemed it defective and offered to send me a newone by the end of the next day.. told it wouldn't be a refurb when I asked, I said OK. Came the next day and it was worse than what I had, and it WAS a refurb. When I called to tell them it was coming back, I was told that's all they ever send for replacements and she suggested taking my original purchase back to Staples for an exchange.. okee dokee... went the next morning, (30 miles each way) and YES I got another DUD.. so on my way to work (2nd shift) I stopped in for my 3rd Staples Kindle... and YAY... I got a good one!

They tried to sell me the warranty for $50. 2 years, battery and accidental damage covered. I have 2 weeks to buy it, and I might be able to snag a $10 off $40 coupon.

Square Trade is less money, but more confusing to me. I think there is a $50 deductible for damage, and I am not sure about the battery..

Any experts here?
I need help :confused3

Doesn't the Square Trade website have a "contact us" link to email them questions like this?

I love the concept of Square Trade, but unfortunately they cannot do business in Wisconsin. I knew the reason why at one point in time, but don't recall it. Maybe it has to do with Wisconsin not recognizing them as an insurance company...

I can't comment on the differences in the warranties, but you can usually find a 20% coupon for Square Trade by doing a google search.

I have 3 Square Trade warranties and they come very highly recommended.
There is no deductible anymore (except for cell phones) if you opt for the Accidental Damage option, and I know of someone who accidently broke the display on her e-reader and filed a claim with them and had no problem getting the settlement.
Good luck- whatever you decide!

we bought a warranty for our cheap laser printer bought about 5 years ago at Staples. It was a 2 year warranty for like 20 dollars. About 18 months in, the printer stopped feeding the paper and wasn't working right. I brought it in to Staples with my paperwork and the box and they gave me a new one on the spot! It was the easiest warranty I've ever had to redeem. I'm not sure if it's still the same now, but I was VERY pleased with their service.

I don't have any experience with Squaretrade to compare it to.

4th Kindle in such a short time? Honestly, I'd ask for a refund and buy a Nook.
