We are currently booked at a standard view one bedroom at Jambo. I am able to change to a savannah view but only at Kidani. I really want to be in Jambo house.
Can anyone link me to a thread that shows the standard views? I want to know what I'm getting into.
Thanks so much!

Originally, all of the Jambo House Standard View rooms overlooked the Uzima Pool. A number of Savanna View rooms have been reclassified as Standard View due to having a limited/poor view of the Savanna.

Do not disparage Kidani. It is not 'second best.' It is every bit as wonderful in its own way. It has Sanaa which is a great restaurant, and though it doesn't have a 'quick service' restaurant Sanaa serves the breakfast food too. Kidani has a beautiful view of some savannahs. It has more partial savannah view rooms, on the Pembe Savannah. It has a wonderful pool for the kids. The lobby is not as large as Jambo House, but it is still large and quite nice. The bus service is excellent. Kidani has an interesting collection of African folk art. It is quite large, but also tends to be quiet. The rooms are usually a bit larger than at Jambo House and the dedicated 2-bedrooms have an extra bathroom (3 instead of 2).

I also love Jambo House. But they are both great. You shouldn't have any regrets no matter which one you stay in.

If you want to looks at the views just take a look at the Touring Plans site. You can see views for most rooms there.

I am in no way disparaging Kidani, definitely don't feel it's second best. I love Kidani, so much that we named one of our pets Kidani! We just really wanted to stay at Jambo this time.

The one bedroom at JH doesn't have the master bathroom in the master bedroom. It's across the hallway from the master bedroom. And it doesn't have a separate shower and tub, just the standard combo shower/tub like in studios. It's made of two renovated hotel rooms. KV has a huge master bathroom in the master bedroom with a giant shower and separate tub. And then KV also has a second bathroom right when you enter the villa.

If you request Kudu trail (left “arm” in the drawing) you should have a good chance at some savanna viewing. We have also stayed off the main lobby overlooking the pool and it was nice as well. We love both buildings but Jambo is a favorite for me.

I’ve stayed in 1 br.s at Jambo several times including most recently a couple of months ago and although the shower and tub are combined they are not ‘just like the standard combo’ of the studios. The tub in the 1 br.s is much larger than the standard sized tub in the studios, the one in the 1 br.s is a large spa tub, which I love using after all the walking I do at WDW. In fact our bubble button in the tub stopped working last trip (we were in a 2 br. lock off, so had both the standard studio tub in that bathroom and the spa tub in the 1 br. villa bathroom) and maintenance had to come fix it.

I do not like the tub/shower combo that’s in the one bedroom in Jambo. The lip to get into the tub is very wide. For studios, I love Jambo, for one bedrooms, I will always pick Kidani.

Rented points several times and stayed in a 1br at Jambo House. The tub is a spa tub with jets. I am 5’4” and i can’t touch the end when “relaxing”. Yes it is a combo tub -shower but by no means a “standard” tub.

Also for. OP- we have only booked standard and have always had a view of the savannah. It may include the “people” pen but we still had great animal views.

Just rented a 2 br in Jambo in December at Jambo but the 2nd room only had the regular shower tub combo but the rooms are 1 br plus studio. Not 2- br units.

I am constantly learning from this group. I didn’t realize that a 2 bedroom lock off at Kidani would not have 3 bathrooms. Now I’m wishing I booked dedicated with 4 teenagers.

I didn’t realize this either. Our upcoming trip we have a 2 bedroom lock off at Kidani and a 1 bedroom at Jambo. Looks like I jipped us on both sides in regards to bathrooms.

Is there a map like that for KV?? I can't find one anywhere. What is the chance of getting some Savannah view with a standard 2bedroom at KV vs JH?

A lockoff or a dedicated at KV will have the extra bathroom just off the entrance to the villa for guests sleeping in the living room. Both the master bedroom and the second bedroom will have a bathroom. Jambo will not have the extra bathroom in any size villa. All two bedrooms at JH will be lockoffs; there are no dedicated two bedroom villas at JH, only KV.

KV standard view is mostly parking lot or pool view. There might be a very few close to the Pembe Savanna.

A one bedroom in Kidani Will have two bathrooms, so any two bedroom in Kidani will have three bathrooms.
