Standard priced rooms at Kidani Village with savannah view?

I know that some of the standard priced rooms near the pool at Kidani Village partially give you a view of the Pembe Savanna. Are there any comparable rooms on the other side of the resort-closer to Jambo House that have been reclassified from savanna view to standard. Also wondering how much luck everyone has had with room requests at Kidani-I have read that they are not commonly granted!

I called in May for a reservation in September and had no problem getting a room. We are on the wait list for the Grand Floridian, however.

The reclassified rooms at Kidani are all on the Pembe side of the resort. I don't believe there are any issues with the view in the area you mention so it's unlikely they would reclassify any of those rooms from Savanna View to Standard View.

We've had good luck getting our requests met at Kidani. Our usual request is "Sunset Savanna, low floor" and so far we've been lucky. The most popular request is probably "Close to lobby" and since there are so few rooms that fit that description, not everyone who requests that will get it. We don't care how far down the hall we are. In fact we prefer being away from the lobby because it's quieter late at night and early in the morning because there is less foot traffic going past the room.

Curious. Why low floor? Are the animal views better? We are staying at kidani for 1st time in august & love reading all these good tips.

Being on the lowest floor puts you closer to the animals. It's also easier to see animals in the distance when there are no tree tops blocking the view which is sometimes an issue from the higher floors.

We stayed at AKV last year. Our room was on the 2nd level (main level). My DD and I rode the elevator to the floors above us to see the view. It is pretty up high but being able to see the animals was hard due to the trees and being so high up. We prefer std view- haven't had a bad one yet
