Standard of rooms/refurbishment - A of A, Poly, Wilderness lodge

We are booked for our first trip to wdw and plan to stay at the poly (club) wilderness lodge and art of animation (little mermaid) for a split stay.

I’ve since read reviews that suggest the rooms in these resorts are badly in need of refurbishment.

Is anyone who has stayed in these resort able to let me know what they thought about the standard of rooms?

Are any of these likely to be refurbished this year? We are visiting in December

None of these resorts have current refurbishments ongoing or planned.

I can only answer regarding poly since we haven’t stayed at the other two resorts. Poly had a refurb a few years ago but still looks old to me. Doesn’t stop me from going back ...., we love the resort.

Considering AoA just opened 6 years ago, I highly doubt they will be getting a refurb any time soon. Pop's refurb is almost complete, then I believe the All Stars will be after that (I think they're doing Movies right now). It'll be a while before AoA gets refurbed IMHO.

Poly & Wilderness, I haven't heard anything about a refurb happening any time soon. With all the other work that is being done at moderate and value resorts, I highly doubt they will squeeze in a couple more refurbs this year. Sorry!

If you want a recently refurbished deluxe room, you may want to look at BC or YC. As others have said, there are no announced plans for refurbs at WL, Poly or AoA.

I believe last full refurb at Poly was 2013. AOA is still new enough refurb is a future event. Not sure when the last at WL was, but whenever it happened, it was before 2012.

To my knowledge (could be wrong but going off of pictures of the Poly rooms) they last renovated the Poly rooms right after our stay in 2011, so I'd guess 2012 or 2013. On our first trip we didn't even really know about Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Boardwalk Inn. YC and BC were both recently renovated (YC just finished). Fabulous location if you want the luxury of walking to Epcot and Hollywood Studios without waiting in long lines for a Monorail, Boat, or Bus. And they all three do offer boat transportation to Epcot and HS if you choose not to walk it.
