Stalking the villas at the Grand Floridian

I preface this by saying we do own at VGF. But we were able to piece together a week Dec 10-17 in a std studio night by night. One night came in by wait list but the others were by stalking.

When we booked the first night I thought we had zero chance of filling the rest in, but persistence pays off. We're really excited to see the Christmas decor, do MVMCP and the candlelight processional...all firsts for us.

Any other stories of hope?

Same here- I pieced together 4 nights at the Poly lake view one night at a time for late Sept. for F&W, MNSSHP, and the DVC Safari event. It can happen folks, don't give up!

We started around 8 months out booking 1 out of the 7 nights. Our last booking was a few days after the 7 month mark.

The most activity occurred the two weeks prior and week after the 7 month mark of the start of the vacation.

Do most of my vacations this way. And I thoroughly enjoy the stalking!

Just got VGF for tomorrow night. I'm not sure it's a story full of hope or a good assassin. Either way, I'm pretty pleased. And I took the chance and did a cancellation and rebook online.

Pardon the noob question but could somebody please explain this process of stalking to me in more detail pleeeeeease? Is it just logging in at 7am 7 months out and trying to get the room over and over or is there more to it?

Stalking is checking a lot. Multiple times a day to see if availability has opened up. Book what you can, repeat. We started checking 8 months out and kept checking until we had all 7 days a few days after the 7 month mark in our case.
