Stacie's Journey for Weight Loss and the 1/2 Marathon Jan 09!

Hey Stacie-I hope your run went well yesterday!

Don't worry about it, you are going to be fine. We all have feelings of doubt before these races...I am honestly feeling the same way about the marathon. You are going to do GREAT!!!!!!

Hang in there!!!

Hi there Stacie!

Don't worry about not feeling ready for your race...it's totally natural and I'll tell ya' that you are totally ready and will do great!! Something happens on race morning and things will just come together for you & the whole thing will be over so quickly!! Just try to remember to take it all in and HAVE FUN with it! We want to hear the details at lunch ;)

Laurie is right...just get out there and do what you can do the next two weeks and you will be fine. You didn't lose everything, you just have to get your body back into it a bit...you'll be surprised at how quickly the runs will get easier for you as you continue to get out there :)

Continue to take care of yourself though...it's better to get to that starting line uninjured for sure!

Glad you had a great time in Florida! We'll see you guys there in less than two weeks!!

Have a great night

Happy New year stacie!
You will do fine in the run i'm sure :)

Happy New Year Stacie!

Remember adrenaline will also kick in and that is different than working out home alone. You have 2 weeks now focus and you will do fine. You must be so excited. I can't wait to hear about it from all of you when you get back.

Linda

Hi guys! Ugh. Back to work today! :goodvibes

Here's a quick update on what's going on in my world...

So, yesterday I decided to try to kick start my weight loss again (after about a 2 lb gain) and I got on the TM. I did 3.1 miles in 52 mins. Let's hope that adrenaline does kick in next Friday! My goal was to be down 20lbs by 5K time and I was on track...Now, I've got 2lbs to lose in 1 week to get there. I will really have to watch my food this week!

I plan to TM again tonight and tomorrow, and the next day...I'm going to try to run/walk as much as I can everyday until next Tuesday. We leave Wed night for WDW!!! I'm getting so excited and nervous! I still feel really unprepared, but I'm really looking forward to it!

I joined the Biggest Loser 4 here on WISH to help me stay focused and motivated.

I've still been seeing the chiro and my back/hip is a little better. I still get a little stiffness and soreness in the hip flexor (I think). I can only make it once this week, but will go Monday and Tuesday next week.

Everyone around me is  so I'm trying to stay healthy! I woke up this morning w/ a sore throat and my ears are achy. I cannot sick until I get back from WDW!!! I do not want be sick down there!

Matt has to work 10 hour days this week! ugh! I only have to work 8, but since I'm still driving him around and we ride together to work, I guess I'll be working 10 hour days too.

I also sent off my test for celiac this week. I finally decided to break down and pay the $$$ for the testing. Hopefully I'll get the results in a few weeks.

Hope everyone has a great start to the new year! Happy training everyone! Thanks so much for all your support and encouragement last year! :grouphug:

Stacie

Happy New Year, Stacy!:dance3:

It sounds like you have a busy few days ahead of you. Hope they go well!:goodvibes

Have a great Wednesday!

HAPPY NEW YEAR STACIE!!!!

First of all...pixie dust for you (and ALL of us) that we stay healthy for the upcoming marathon weekend. I know what you mean about being surrounded by illness...it seems everybody around here is sick. So far myself and the kids are staying pretty healthy. Keeping those fingers crossed!!!!

Also...great job keeping up with all the run/walking AND on continuing to take care of your back issue w/ visits to the chiro!!! You are doing such a great job and I'm SOOO impressed....I hope you can look back on 2007 and give yourself a big huge pat on the back for all that you've accomplished!!! Keep up the great work Stacie..I think 2008 is going to be a super year for you!

As for the 5K...try not to stress over it :). I just know you are going to have a fabulous race. Try not to worry and just look forward to all the fun. I really can't wait to meet you and Matt!!!! :goodvibes

Good Morning! and what a cold one!!! 23 degress when I got to work this morning! 17 for low tonight! brrr!

Thanks for the PD! My ears and throat are still bothering me today, so I guess at lunch I'll run out to get some Tylenol Cold and Sinus. Since my ears are borthering me, I tend to think it's my sinuses! yuk!

So last night we went to Wilson for Matt's Dr appointment. We ate w/ my parents and I went to Target to get a solid shirt for my iron-on I'm making for next weekend.

Once home, I decided to hop on the TM. I only did 15 min, but I did push myself to run for 10. I just didn't have it in me to keep going, but I figure something is better than nothing, and that's an additional 150 cal (per the TM) I burned had I not.

Then it was on to Disney planning. This upcoming trip is pretty much done, but we'll be going back from Jan 1-Feb 3! That's when Matt's parents are going they decided they wanted us to go too. So I had a few changes to make for some dinner reservations while we are there. They will be there for a week along w/ Matt's grandparents, but we're only there for a long weekend. They are celebrating their 60th anniversary! As a suprise, we have scheduled a Wishes Cruise for the 4 of them! I pray it doesn't rain!!!

Tonight, we'll be working until about 5:30. I have no idea what we're going to have for dinner, but I'll be back on the treadmill after. The goal is to do something on the treadmill daily throught next Tuesday.

The good news is I'm down 1lb, so only 1 more to go!!! It's amazing how these few lbs are totally stressing me out! I tend to be a very scheduled, planned, by the books type person, so the plan was to lose 20lbs by next week and it has to happen! Yes, I do this to myself and if was someone else, I would say great! You've done fantastic, only 1lb away, but since it's myself...not that way. I will feel like a total failure if I can't say I lost 20lbs. 19lbs. is just not good enough.

Next week at this time, we'll be hanging out at Hollywood Studios and probably riding the Tower of Terror right now! :woohoo: I guess I need to figure out how to get to the Wide World of Sports in the afternoon. I think I have to go to a resort then hop a bus, but I'm not sure... Better go do some research!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Stacie

Hey Stacie,

I am so excited for you. You will do a great job at the 5k. Just don't forget to enjoy it.;)

I understand your thoughts about that 1 pound, b ut please don't let it overshadow the incredible fact that you have lost 19 pounds. Those nineteen pounds represent all the effort and hard work you have put into getting healthy. I an so proud of you.

Take care of yourself.
Beth

Yeah, what Beth said! Don't let the 1 pound get you down. You know that your weight can fluctuate by 1 pound because of water retention, TOM, or zillions of other factors, so don't let 1 pound make you lose sight of how far you have come. You are doing SO GREAT and you are helping me not to give up when I think about how far I have to go. I know you are worried about your ability to do the 15-minute mile at the 5K. DON'T!!! I know that's easier said than done, but you are so close to it already! So you're 7 minutes off - you don't think you'll make up 7 minutes when you are actually out there running with Matt and doing something YOU'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE? Of course you will! So try to stay excited about your WDW trip and race, and don't stress over whether you'll lose the 1 lb. before then or what your time is.

Thanks for the conversation last night. I needed to talk to someone who could help me look at the big picture, and you did that. I hope you have a wonderful day - love you lots!

Susan

Thanks guys... Really nothing too excited to report today other than the fact this time next week we will have just run through the Animal Kingdom!!! I've been checking the weather forecast and will be packing this weekend!!!!

Oh, and check out my new clippie!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Stacie

Hi Stacie!!

20 lbs clippie!! CONGRATS!! Thats an awesome job and something to be very proud of :) Way to go!! :goodvibes:

As far as getting to WWoS for the packet pickup...the offical guide says that busses will run from all resorts to the WWoS every 20 minutes, so it should be an easy thing to accomplish :) Be sure and bring some extra $$$, there is a ton of cool merchandise there :)

I've been thinking about next week non-stop also! One week from now, we'll be in MK...and just a few hours from meeting you guys :) You will be celebrating your success in the 5k by now! So exciting!

Have a good afternoon and a great weekend!

Hey Stacie---sorry to MIA for a few days, it has been crazy here this week.

First of all, CONGRATS on the 20 lbs...I knew you would do it!! That is awesome.

I can't wait to meet you and Matt next week, it willl be cool to finally meet you in person!

Hang in there...before we know it the races will be over, and we will find a new race to train for!

Hope you have an awesome weekend, and relax after what looked like a very busy week for you!

Stacie,
Good Luck next weekend. I can't wait to hear about everything. What I have read is to make sure you look around and enjoy yourself as you run. Don't get to caught up with looking at the ground and miss the fact that you are in WDW :)

CONGRATS on 20 lbs. I know that feeling too. I have been at an 18 lb plateau for too long- I am getting a little miffed too.

Take care,
Linda

:woohoo: congratulations for the 20lb, that just sums up your amazing determination despite everything else going on around you. I have a feeling you're going to do brilliantly at the 5k and can't wait to read all about your brilliantly exciting day.

Don't panic about ur time, the atmosphere and adrenaline rush just from being there will prob knock off a good few mins- i found that myself so it's not an urban myth! GOOD LUCK :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your 20 lb. clippie, Stacie!:cheer2:

Good luck next weekend! You are gonna do a great job! We'll be cheering you on from Ohio!:cheer2:

Have a great week!

SOOOOOO CLOSE NOW STACIE!!!! Aren't you super excited??? :cool1: I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys down there. Yay!!! :goodvibes

Ok People... Less than 1 week to go! Yippeee!! I am so excited and nervous. I know I will be stressed out until we get there Wed night! Right now I have to finish packing, which includes making t-shirts! :scared1: I'm doing a few iron-ons and I had a hard time finding t-shirts (should I buy long sleeve or short sleeve? what will the temp be in FL... yes, I was struggling w/ my decision, but did finally decide and buy!). I finally got some over the weekend, got them washed and dried and will hopefully iron-on tonight! Once that is done, I can finish packing and it shouldn't be so stressful. In between work (up at 5 am this morning!) the chiro (today and tomorrow) and packing, washing, I need to find time to workout too!

The hip is still bothering me some, so I haven't really been pushing myself as much as I would like, so I'm still feeling a bit unprepared, but what the heck. I'm going and I will conqur the 5K! Please let me get an adrenaline rush! :goodvibes

I'm so excited!

The weekend went pretty well. Food was descent. I didn't workout on Saturday, but on Sunday, I walked w/ my SIL.

Today I hope to TM for at least 30 min. I'll do a walk/run combo I'm sure.

Thanks everyone for the encouragment! :grouphug:

Hope you all have a great day!
Stacie

Hi Stacie!

Love that you are making shirts!! Care to tip us off on what they are going to say?? Good luck with the ironing...I know that can be tricky sometimes (at least for me!).

I love your attitude and constant positivity about everything...that along with the drive you have to reach your goals...it's been a real inspiration to me. You are going to have such a great experience with the 5k!! I can't wait to hear all about it on Friday :goodvibes:

Have a good day!

Hi Stacie,

I am not sure I will make it to the boards before you leave. I wanted to wish you luck with your race. Your spirit and determination will get you through it, and you may even become addicted to the adrenaline rush.;) Have a fantastic trip and a great run woman.

Take care,
Beth
