Hi everyone,
So, I'm starting this journal because I think that the only way that I will be healthy is with some support.
I'm a college freshman that is living at home right now because I transferred out of my last college due to a very bad experience. While I do an internship in the city, I'm applying to colleges for Sophomore year. Since it is January, I figured it was about time I get my act together, so that when I finally get to go to a school that I love, I will already have figured out how to love myself.
I'm slightly overweight by about 15-20 pounds. It isn't a lot but it's enough to have my weight and health go up and down over the past couple years. I know that I'm young and I will probably get healthier as I get older, but it is hard to be a girl in college and not be comfortable with my body.
I have a very supportive boyfriend who has always encouraged me to be healthy.
So, I decided that I am going to start fresh with EVERYTHING. This means eating healthier, smaller portions and not snacking as much. It also means remembering to floss and use flouride mouthwash when I brush my teeth. It also means using my new Neutrogena skinID care line on a regular basis so that my skin is clear. It also means putting lotion on my body for my dry skin. Basically, I want to take care of my body. My WHOLE body.

My wish, come September, is to be healthy.

I'll be using the Wii Fit and regular exercise programs. I don't really know how these things work, journal wise, but I guess I will update reguarly on my progress and hopefully I will eventually get into a routine. I also am planning on joining the WISH Biggest Loser to keep me on track.

Here's to being 15 pounds lighter and a million times healthier!

Hey guys,
Day Two of starting my new life! Couldn't sleep much last night so I had no energy this afternoon to work out. This is bad because I realize that my habit of exercising at night has probably been a bad idea.
I need to figure out a schedule for myself so that I can actually do this.
The problem is that I have a very weird schedule.
Mondays I have a break from 12 to 6, which is fine, I can work out for an hour then.
Tuesdays I have work from 10 to 5 and then class from 6 to 8:45. Now, I could either have the energy to get up at 7:45 and exercise in the morning or I could wait until 9 to exercise then.
Wednesdays I have work from 10 to 5, and then I can work out from 6 to 7.
Thursdays, I have class until 11:30, and then work from 2 to 5, then class from 6 to 8:45. So... theoretically I could work out from 12 to 1 or 10 to 11 at night. Maybe I should take Thursdays off?
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays I am off, so I can work out whenever I want.

Any advice on when to schedule my workouts?

When I don't get enough time to focus on a workout I do 50 crunches, 50 pushups and then some free weights.

I guess I'll work out now and then I can make a formal schedule later.

Happy Day 2!:cheer2:

Hi Stacey, welcome to WISH! :wave2:

I think you should be able to schedule some workouts into your routine. Just pencil it in like it is a class or a Dr appointment. If you are consistent about it, you are more likely to stick to it. And if you can't find a full hour, there is nothing wrong with getting 2 30 minute workouts over the course of the day. ::yes::

It is hard to train yourself to get up in the mornings, but try it - you get used to it fast. I wake up at 4:45am to work out before work. Yes, sometimes I am literally dragging myself to the gym, but I am ALWAYS happy I did it! For one, it makes me feel good, and #2, I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the day.

Find something that works for you and you will do great! :cheer2:

Thanks so much,
I'm going to try really hard this week. :)
Anyway, onto a new subject. It's 11:15pm and I'm here eating bread and butter so that I won't eat chocolate. I'm looking for alternatives to this - some healthy snacks that will control my urge to CHEW. I find that yogurt and healthy things fill me up, but my urge at night is more for chewing things.

Any suggestions?
