Stacey and Ryan SOG 8/1/09 Updated 3/27 Hawaii Day 2

:beach: I thought I would pop over here to see which islands you were going to on your honeymoon. What a wonderful suprise, you will absolutely love it. There is so much to do on Oahu and then I have heard that Kauai is a wonderful place to kick back and relax, so you can have the best of both worlds. We just had a friend go to Kauai on his honeymoon in October and they said it was beautiful.

I just texted my sister, and she said it she said it was "Hau Tree Lani" Get an outdoor table if you can.

We spent most of our time on Maui, so I probally won't be too much help. But we really enjoyed the Dole plantation on Oahu, and watching the surfers at the pipeline.

In Kauai, my sister and I went on a diving trip which was awesome - if you don't dive, they have great snorkeling sites too. We also did this hike through the jungle and zipline across a river. It was really cool, but exausting and not very romantic.

You'll have a great time!

hey Stacey!

Great news about the honeymoon! thats so lovely of the parents, and so thoughtful even if you do know about it. Hawaii is very impressive!!!

Now i think you have already got some (Ryans mum got some?), but i just came accross these and they were really cheap, so i just thought i'd send you the link just incase! they are fans!

Hey Stacey! I know it was too bad we missed each other, and our next trip I think you'll be busy 8/2 - 8/9 lol! Hawaii sounds amazing!!!! Is Addison going to go with you or is it a couples trip??

My aunt said Kauai was her favorite island. I'm so excited about both islands. I'm seriously using your TR for inspiration. So far, I want to do everything you did! You looked like you had a blast, and to be honest with you, Ryan and I aren't huge beach people.

Who did you do the zipline through? I found one that is a kayak/zipline tour. I saw it the other night and I told Ryan we have to do it. I think he thinks I'm crazy. HOpefully I can talk him in to it. I also want to do a helicopter tour!

Thanks for the link. I took some pictures of my fans and will try posting them tonight. It's nice to know people think about me!
WOOHOO For HONEYMOONS!
Agreed!!!! :banana::cool1: I'm super excited!

Yeah, I'm going to be a little busy then (in HAWAII!) Hopefully one day we will get to meet up. Addison is staying with my parents, however, it is a possibility that they will fly over and meet up with us for the second week. Our time share in Kauai is a two bedroom, so we have plenty of room. Plus, I think one week away from her is enough. I miss her as it is while I'm at work!

Haha it sounds amazing, you will have a blast! And it's nice that you can meet up with your family after a little "couple" time too. Although, if Addison's grandparents are anything like mine were I am sure she will be spoiled while your away lol! My grandparents used to let me have somany snacks when they watched me lol! It was the best:thumbsup2

Stacey, I just finished reading your PJ and I love the gazebo. I hope that mother nature is nice and it isn't to hot on your wedding day. I think as long as your ceremony isn't more than 30 minutes and you have fans/water you should be ok (but I love the heat so I might just be a freak of nature :rotfl: ) Addison is freakin' adorable as well! Best wishes to you!

same with my parents. They spoil her to death. She can have whatever she wants whenever she wants! Oh well! What can I do!?

Yay a new reader! Welcome! I'm hoping that mother nature is nice also and will make the humidity somewhat lower on the big day. I'm sort of dreading it still. Thanks for your kind words!

All right, here are a few updates on the wedding stuff. Well, just a few pictures anyway.

Here are a few of the fans Ryan's mom picked up in the Philippines. There are a lot more colors than these ones. They were all hand painted there which I think is a nice touch. It has our names and date on the back, but I couldn't get a good pic of it.

My bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses came in. Delivery was fast, we only ordered them last week!

The pictures really don't do the dresses justice. They are a lot nicer in person!

Here is my cake serving set. $10 from The Knot! A lot better than I was expecting. It's engraved, but hard to read in the picture

And I also ordered the monogram initials or whatever they are called for our cake.

I might try jazzing those up somehow though. They are kind of dull. We will see though! That's all for now. I'm working on our votive candles for our tables. who knew how much work it was to put a silly piece of ribbon around a glass container!?:confused3

I also received our little chinese take out boxes for our candy buffet. I'm going to put ribbon and a seal with a "b" on it around the boxes. That is going to be a lot of work. I will post a pic when I've finished.

That's all for now!!!!

Oh, my team at school are planning a shower for me! It's going to be April 30, not far at all! I'm excited, but nervous. I hate being the center of attention and hate opening gifts in front of people. They are doing a "English Tea" theme, and I'm excited. One of my fellow third grade teachers is also one of my best friends and she seems to be putting a lot of work in to it!

My aunt is also having a shower for me. She asked me if June was okay and I said sure. She asked me if I wanted a normal shower, or a personal shower, or a gift card shower. I said definitely NOT a personal shower. I'm embarrassed opening gifts as it is, let alone that stuff!!! My aunt is a wonderful cook and party planner so I'm sure that shower will be amazing also.

That's my only update for now!

same with my parents. They spoil her to death. She can have whatever she wants whenever she wants! Oh well! What can I do!?

haha, It's a grandparents right of passage I think! You just have to grin and bear it, but at least you know that Addison will have fun while you guys are on your honeymoon (and she won't be hungry lol)

Now the fans, those are gorgeous Stacey! All the colors will look amazing at SOG outside with all the pretty scenery behind it... you should think of having some sort of shot of the guests with the fans or the BM's and you peeking out from behind them. I bet it would be super sweet!

And yay for showers! Although I feel the same way about being the center of attention like that... I never know how to act. I feel like I am always very "not me" at things like that.:confused3

Thanks, I'm glad you like the fans. Some of them are even brighter colors though, that I'm not so sure about. But Ryan's mom set aside "nicer more expensive" ones for me, her, and my mom. She won't let me see them though because she wants it to be a surprise. Although, I don't think I will need one because I will have a bouquet.

Wow. Those fans are so pretty! Don't worry about the bright colors - You'll be outside, so it'll all blend in beautifully.(well unless they're like day-glow orange then you might have an issue :scared1:) How nice to have in August!

So sweet that she bought you one too. You might be able to get some great pictures with it - even if you don't use it in the ceremony.

'bout the shower just put on some :cool2: and pretend that it's just you and your friend - That's nice they're doing that for you. I know what you mean about feeling awkward about people watching you open up presents though...

About Hawaii - And seriously now you've done it - I was holding back because I didn't want to sound like an adventure junkie - which I so am.... Plus I'm at home and have my journal so I have details... So Ohau: Horseback riding at the Turtle Bay resort - it was really nice and the views were gorgeous. Also, since we're "advanced" riders, they let us set up our own time where we could canter and trot. We even got to gallop! It was awesome They also have a sunset ride with dinner I believe. Very nice resort - all activities are open to the public. The other thing we did in the north shore - and since you want to know about the zipline, I'll share, cuz you sound adventurous) is www.hawaiisharkadventures.com it's a bit pricey - but it was one of coolest things we did all trip! (And we did a lot!)

Do the helicopter in Kauai (and Blue Hawaiian company if you can). Much prettier vistas! We were on a cruise and went through them for the zip-line. I looked, but I don't have the tour operator written down in my notes. Very unlike me - sorry. In Kauai we hiked the Waimea canyon - canyon trail and did a whale watching cruise - we were there in December.

If you have any questions feel free to ask -I'm a total travel nerd and keep tons of notes. But I'll stop pirate:your PJ for now...

Thanks for the compliments and the tips! I will definitely check out that link and the helicopter tour. If I have any other questions I know who to ask! I'm so excited and once I sit down and start planning out stuff, I'm sure I will have a ton of questions! I think ziplining would be amazing, it's high on my list

Alright, here is my update for the day. I ordered some small chinese take out boxes for my favors to go with the candy buffet. I wanted to put a ribbon around them with a seal. My mom and I decided to start this process tonight. Before we started, we planned on doing a few but we seriously thought it was going to take us days. However, we whizzed through it and finished 145 of them in less than 3 hours. :woohoo::yay::banana: I was excited. Here is the finished product.

Those fans are beautiful and the flower girl dress is adorable!

I also haven't found a cake topper I like. I told my mom I was probably just going to do the monogram, possibly just an 'A' and not even our first initials. I found one that is art deco font, but I'm not sure, I still feel like there must be some other cake topper out there that I would like better that I just haven't found.

Congrats on finishing the take out boxes in record time! That's awesome! :thumbsup2

Oohhhh stacey lots of updates!!

I love the fans- and its so great they are hand painted- the colours are lovely! The pink is so niceeeee!! (well i would say that being a pink lover!)

The colours of those dresses are so nice, they look so pure and pretty. YAY!

I cant believe those chinese take out boxes- they look wicked- i cant belive you have so many! At least your guests can fill them right up! (i would hehe)

I saw those cake cutters on the knot and i thought they were too good to be true with those prices- $10 is just - well you'd be silly not to! Now i know they are good, i think i just might order the knifes, hopefully they are still in stock! That knot website have some stupidly good deals on there dont they!!
