St. Thomas Question

Hi all,

Last time we were in St. Thomas the Magic tendered, and we took the shuttle boat over to the port shopping area for an hour or so.

On our next trip, I presume we will dock at the pier (it seems like tendering is relatively infrequent). If the ship docks, is there a gondola close by that can take us to a high point overlooking the port? If so, can you walk to the gondola station, or do you need to take a taxi?

I was not sure if the gondola opportunity was a St. Maarten thing or a St. Thomas thing.

The gondola is a St. Thomas thing. And yes, you can walk there from the dock, about a 10 minute walk. Got some great pics there!

As Muushka mentioned, the views are great from the top. The restaurant at the top also has some-what decent food (I'd give it a 4 out of 10) and a great drink called the Bushwacker (a sure 9 out of 10!) The service at the restaurant is not so great.

The website also has a page where you can print off a $1.00 coupon for a Bushwacker if you decide you would like to try one.

We are not to big into formal excursions, so this is sounding like a perfect way to enjoy St. Thomas, but maximize time on the ship. Have a great time on your back-to-back cruise. I am sooooo envious!!
