We are looking at Eastern Caribbean in February 2022. There are tow itineraries, one stop in St Martin, St Thomas and CC. The other stops in St Martin, San Juan PR, and CC. Does anyone know if the ship docks or tenders in St Thomas? Advantages of St Thomas vs San Juan? Thanks for any help.

The ship docks in St Thomas and San Juan. (And in St Martin for that matter).

Love both St Thomas & San Juan. It wouldn't matter to us at all which one we stopped at. We are basically port shoppers, not beach or activity people. So your preferences might make a difference.

What do you want to do? Look at the port adventures and decide which look more appealing.

we loved the beach in St Thomas, one of the most beautiful we’ve ever been to. In San Juan we loved exploring the forts. It was horrifically humid in June though. Very uncomfortable.

We've enjoyed both destinations. Agree with previous posters, look at the port excursions and see which best fits your style. We typically don't book through DCL for excursions anymore because we typically find booking outside is cheaper and we like the options better.

I was surprised with out visit to San Juan. Free shuttle that takes you around the old city and to the forts. So that is an easy day. Pretty good duty free in St Thomas. We've gone to St John from St Thomas via excursion as well.

Neither St. Thomas nor San Juan are historically tender ports.

Only been to San Juan once. That would be my choice since we have been to St. Thomas so many times. Not much to do there other than beach day or shopping. We've done Coral World a couple of times by kids found it kind of lame compared to Monterey Bay Aquarium. St. Thomas port day anymore is our day to sleep in late, after staying up late the night before roaming the decks late at night and enjoying the sea, the wind, the stars and the lights of the islands as we pass by.

There are no February cruises that stop in San Juan. There is one in January and another in April.

We picked the January cruise since April cruise would be too close to Easter (it was either right before or right after), and we chose January for the probable lower crowds.

Not sure we will go at all now. Still in a holding pattern for now.

We haven't been to San Juan, but we loved St. Thomas. We like beaches & snorkeling and found a gorgeous, not-crowded beach with soft sand and barely off-shore snorkeling. My guess is if you're more into culture / history, San Juan would be good.
