St. Marteen

DW,DD,DSIL, and myself(DH), would like to know what is the BEST beach on St. Marteen (hope spelling is right). We will be going there in July 2003, and are beach lovers. We would like to know if there are activities at the beach, like snorkeling.

you might want to check out Dave's recommendations at www.dcltribute.com and see the ratings. We did go to Dawn's Beach, which was easy to get to and very clean, but snorkeling was not the best on the day we were there. Other folks have talked alot about Orient Beach.

Just remember a lot of beaches are clothing optional, I think orient being one of them. Sounds like your all adults but be prepared!...We're going to Pinel Island and try the snorkeling there.. Hopefully no kids with mouths hanging open...lol Cheers, Gary

Watch the wind direction. We were last there in January and tried Dawn beach, but the wind was coming straight in and the water was very rough. We ended up at Little Bay Beach and the kids had a good time.

Adults can see some interesting stuff if they work the left side out toward the point, but the wave motion/current action is enough to keep the kids away.
