Has anyone stayed in the first floor rooms facing the quiet pool?
Any drawbacks to being on the 1st floor?
I'm assuming easy access to the pool area & with the little ones
fast asleap we can sit at the pool & enjoy before bed.
Any thoughts or opinions?

We always try to get the first floor at BCV facing the quiet pool. Makes doing what you described very easy. You will notice many people take advantage of the location and head straight to the pool from their unit.

However, the first floor villas have shrubbery around their patios - to try to give them a sense of privacy (of sorts) - so you are not really supposed to trudge through the shrubbery to get to the pool. And you can't lock your patio door from the outside. Use the corridors and the exits as they are designed.

Our first stay at BCV was in a 1st floor room facing the quiet pool (during the week of NYE). We liked being on the 1st floor, but really didn't enjoy facing the pool. During the time we were there, folks were using the quiet pool all hours of the night (I don't know if it was a function of the week on NYE--but, it was every night for the whole week). When folks were out in the pool in the middle of the night laughing and whopping it up, it was not so quiet. That was our only objection.

We have had assorted woodland views since our first visit which I much prefer.

We had first floor 2 studios for Spring Break in April 2007. We didn't face the pool, we were on the courtyard side, but we were just a couple of rooms down the hallway, and I'll tell you, it was great! No fussing with elevators, easy access to the pool thru the Breezeway. We were concerned at first, but ended up loving the first floor. The patio gives you more room than the balconies on the higher floors, and it was nice with the kids (our rooms had a 1 bedroom between them which I think was empty as we never saw or heard anyone the whole week). I say ask for first floor on the courtyard side.

First floor was great. I really enjoyed the patios instead of balconies. Much more room. Getting to our room was so simple especially for MIL. Good luck!

I stayed at BCV last June and had a room overlooking the quiet pool up on the top floor (4th or 5th, can't remember which). The pool was very busy late at night, like 11:00PM or so and there always seemed to be a good game of vollyeball going on and I thought it was a little louder than it should have been for such a late hour. The pool was not supervised and I believe people could stay there all night if they please. Being up so high, it did not impcact my family, but I imagine it would affect people sleeping on the gound level.

I once had a ground floor room at Pop Century right near the pool and could hear people running around late at night. With young children requiring precious sleep, I would recommend staying away from the ground floor near the pools. You'll be surprised how many people are out there for a late night swim.
