SSW is 11/15 & 11/16-would rooms now be available for 11/8-11/14?

We are renting points for 11/8-11/15. Our first and second choice of BC or BWV are not available and we have SSR. What's your opinion on rooms freeing up for our week now that DIS has announced SSW as 11/15 & 11/16?

I currently have a reservation for November 6-10 (booked at SSR waitlisted for BWV or BCV) and plan to cancel once the SSW dates are officially released (assuming the dates are 15-16). I would assume there are others that will cancel as well and rebook for the following weekend. Hopefully it opens up spots for others. I have heard of many others that have reservations for the 8-9 since ssw typically falls on the 2nd weekend of november.

This is more complex than that.

First there are waitlists in place for both those resorts. Unless the owner you are renting from has put you on the waitlist, rooms would not only need to free up, the waitlist would need to clear.

Personally, if I were going to rent points, I'd never put any of my renters on the waitlist - particularly with an uneven trade - they'll just move you and take the points out of his/her account. But you can ask your owner if they will do that for you if they haven't.

Then the owner would have to know that there was availability. The only way to know that is to call - or use the waitlist.

Then the owner you are working with would have to be willing to rent you more points in order to complete the reservation at BWV/BCV - points they may or may not have available.

We are on the waitlist and we do have more points available to us to rent, if needed. We'll see if we are lucky enough to switch.

I hope that it frees up some rooms. We are on the waitlist for a one bedroom at BCV for the night of 11/9. We were able to get the rest of the week with no problem.
