Well I think that is so dumb...what else are you going to talk about a year before your trip? There are tons of PTR that are in violation of this rule....are they gonna shut them all down?

Hey wait, why not make a rule for PTR then...no posting a PTR unless you are a month away from your trip. That would cut the chatter. They should also carry this over to the PDR boards, no pre-dining reports 8 months before your trip.

Agreed Nicki, do you know how many PTR's I see that are SOOOOO off topic??? Some people treat PTR's like their personal blog, and they're still going! I'm not trying to start trouble or anything, I'm just a little confused, that's all!

I have to say Kathy you are a girl after my own heart....before I order my meal, I check out what's on the dessert menu first....then I adjust what I order for dinner!

WOW! Quite the drama over here! I think there's a lot to talk about Disney and not; and we all seem to enjoy all of it.

And it's funny... ALL these big life events that we share about LEAD UP TO A TRIP, and are part of the trip- sometimes they are the REASON for going and celebrating!!! Helllooooo.... the "I'm Celebrating Buttons!!!"

As for the Plaza, it is now on the list. Now when, I am not sure but if nothing else, dessert will be had.

I have seen the moderators make similar requests on 2 or 3 other threads, so don't take it personally.....seems like they've received a mandate to crack down on non-Disney discussions.

Thank you everyone for all of the nice comments. I won't be posting any more pictures as I've been requested by the DIS moderators to go back to topic which is a Disney pre-trip report. So I'll do an update in the next day or two.

As far as the Plaza, I canceled our ADR there in December becuause I was finally able to get into CP (I think it was CP). I need to eat there! Do you need an ADR if you are just having dessert there?

As you know, we really enjoy The Plaza too. I haven't found a thing on the menu that I don't like. I thought my Mama was going to lick her pineapple sundae dish clean because it was so good.

Wow, everyone loves the Plaza. I'll have to go there someday. It's always in the running, but never quite makes the final cut. I do think those Mickelodeons look very cute.

I'll post responses later, but just wanted to let everyone know that Nicki and Todd have arrived at Disney. They checked into POFQ where they oversold the king rooms and offered to upgrade them to SSR; Nicki and Todd chose to just take two queens at POFQ. They were headed to DTD for lunch. Remember...this is a trip where they have NO ADR's. I can't wait to read the report on this one. I'll post a link when she starts the report (she is NOT doing a live report this trip).

I can hardly wait to see how they did without any ADRs. Knowing Todd's luck, they'll probably get into every restaurant they walk up to.

Thanks for the Nicki fix! I'm with them...don't think I'd have moved to SSR, either. Why doesn't that place hold any appeal at all? And I cannot wait for the report, either..gonna be really interesting. I think they'll do just fine though. Something's telling me they'll still eat well.

Girl, you and I think alike! Our minds go straight to dessert! Which is of course the most important meal of the day, right?

I had the steak, cheese and peppers! Heavenly! I'm not a huge fan of tomatos either. I like them all mashed up (like in spaghetti sauce or pizza) but not whole in a salad. Does that make me sound strange? Probably!

Aw, I'm very, very happy to have met you too Kat! You're pretty special yourself! Who else can I count on to torment Marv and Tim with me??

I also have loved all the pics. Since this is a Pre trip report I thought the point was to talk about the things before your trip. Things you have planned, life along the way. Guess I was mistaken, it is really unfortunate.

Mary, no problem...we'll keep it personal and Disney related.

We ate at the Plaza a couple of years ago and I actually made an ADR to have lunch there on our upcoming trip! I can't remember now if I had the Club sandwich or the Turkey sandwich when we were there. I did find an extremely Hidden Mickey while I was in there that I want to go back and take a picture of since I haven't seen it documented anywhere. Plaza Hot Fudge Sundaes are good anytime!!!

Not because of your choice, but because you sound identical to ME!!! Love ketchup and cooked tomatoes in pasta dishes, but don't want them anywhere near my sandwiches or on salads, etc. So see, you HAVE to be strange to have the same taste as me, right???

This is TOO scary. I love ketchup (yes even on hot dogs!), but I don't like tomatos in my salad, don't like really tomatoee (is that a word) spaghetti sauce or pizza sauce. Could it be you and I have something in common, Marv?

Oh good, I'm not strange. Or at least not by Marv's standards anyway... I feel the same way about tomatoes. Actually I have a weird issue with mushrooms as well. Love the taste of them, hate the texture. Yup, I'm a lucky catch aren't I?

Hmmm, I am with Mary, I thought a pre trip report was all about the preplanning and so we could share with our friends and get to know each other? Getting to know your life has made me want to know more about your trip. Oh well, bummer no more pics. Major bummer.

Uhhh...hmmm...so, the Plaza sounds pretty good! I'd like to try it someday, but since I have such a problem narrowing down ADR's, I'll probably get around to trying the Plaza like, 5 years from now!

I do not understand why people cannot post other pics. We all come to know each other thru this website & all enjoy each others pics or so I thought. I know many that post other pics & if someone does not enjoy them they do not need to look right???

I agree with others - I think family events are part of the PTR, we are friends and want to know and see photos. With all due respect to the moderators, as long as things are kept family friendly and subscribers enjoy, why should it matter? Honestly, I do not see how a PTR could be only about Disney.

But as long as we're talking Disney....LOVE The Plaza and the Hot Fudge Sundaes ... I'll take your portion of whipped cream, thank you!!

I'll save you my whipped cream in September.
