We are in for a snow storm tomorrow. Up north may get up to a foot!!

And yes...I know how Chicago can be in the spring. On on my one and only trip to Chicago several years ago, it was super warm here when I left...like in the low 80's. Granted, that was unseasonably warm, even for CT in April, but I brought only spring/summer clothes with me to the Windy City and now winter coat! BIG MISTAKE! I froze the whole time.

I truly do not believe we've had a "real" spring in the last five years.

Mark is better; still has a cough, but no more fever, running nose, etc.

i would make you my homemade get better chicken soup but since im not close enough to you...just pop a can of cambells...and tell him to eat up.

That's exactly what I made it...well not exactly...he had Progressive chicken soup.

Oh Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear Mark is sick! I pray he recovers soon and that you don't come down with it! Keep drinking lots of tea, my mom swears by that. I actually have two sick little girls right now myself. They are miserable and I hate seeing them feel so ill! Anyway, finish that packing and don't get sick!!!

I keep trying to talk Mark into going to Daytona the LONG way and cutting through Orlando, but it hasn't worked thus far.

We left the house at 3:45 a.m. and picked up my brother and headed to O'Hare Airport. Security was a TOTAL nightmare. We got to our gate at around 5:30 with boarding scheduled for 5:40 a.m. Mark went to get our boarding passes because we had NOT gotten seats yet, and I went to get in line at Starbucks for a wake-me up Venti Cappucino. We boarded on time and left about 15 minutes late (how can you be late at 6:00 a.m. in the morning????). However, we landed right on time. I have to say it was one of the smoothest plane rides I have had in years and the landing was perfect. We stopped for a bathroom break (never got up on the plane) and then stopped for Cappucino #2 and a piece of Cinnamon Coffee Cake for Mark. From there, it was time to go get our luggage and pick up our rental car. Mark headed toward baggage claim and I went out the doors to enjoy the sunshine and warm temperature...even at 9:30 a.m. it was a heck of a lot warmer than it is by 3 p.m. in Chicago.

Luggage gotten, we headed over to Budget for our car. They offered us a Cadillac for $105 more than we were paying for our full-size, but since Mark's company is paying, we stuck with our full-size.

Luggage into the car, exit the airport and we headed to the Jacksonville, Florida Zoo. What a great zoo. I'll end here as I'm taking a shower while Mark is at the pool and then we are going to an early dinner and hitting the sack pretty darn early too. But I will upload zoo pictures after dinner and post before hitting the sack.

I bet the Jacksonville zoo was fun! The warm weather sounds great. I'd love to be in Jacksonville right now, sipping a cappuccino, seeing some animals. Glad to hear you flight went well!
