Looks like you've gotten plenty of dining advice already. I'll just say that you know how much I love Le Cellier and 50's PT. Mama Melroses was just "meh" for us. Nothing bad, but we didn't feel the need to hurry back. I hope you get to try Via Napoli, because I'm really interested in that one!

I'll have to post a link for you of Nicki's reviews of Via Napoli--they did go three times in November. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ok, let me see if I can do this from memory

Tusker House-had bkfst there in Dec. Felt the characters were really rushed. The selection was good though

I am in the minority but not a Le Cellier fan

Never had Kona bkfst though dinner was ok

Never had 50's Prime Time

Really liked Boma

Liked O'Hana for dinner

Really like Plaza

On our for sure list
Yak and Yeti
Crystal Palace-let us know when you are doing this since Cayley wants to go with you guys. It will prob be just Jeff and I and the kids since the G'Parents are not such early risers (MIL)
Big River Brewing Co
Mama Melrose-loved Brook's review
Sanaa
Boma bkfst

We would love to do CP with you guys for breakfast. The weather is supposed to be really cold here the next several days, so maybe I'll start working on a draft touring plan and figure out which day will work.

Also, Mark and I thought maybe you and your inlaws would like to go to dinner one night without the kids and we could take them Miniature Golfing and then meet you at the park or something. Let me know what you think.

I am working on our "touring plan" Any idea what days you will be where?? I can send you the "best parks" info if you want. Or do you use something else??

I have no idea and that is why I want to work on it over the weekend. I want to look at the park hours for last year and use that as a guide. We don't worry about "touring plans" that the "pros" post...we go where we want to go and we've never had any major problems.

I'll do a first run and then send it to you by PM either here or on FB.

Well, we could do dinner with you guys too, and still take the girls Mini Golfing. :)

Sounds like a good thing to do while you are freezing your hiney off :) Cool, I'm a pro :rotfl2: Thanks very much- if ya wanna take the gremlins golfing I will not stop ya :)

Go PACKERS

Go PACKERS

Get RID of that Packers thing...I bet you thought these old eyes wouldn't catch it. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

We love breakfast at the Kona Cafe! It is the one restaurant we will never skip. We also like dinner at Ohana a lot. We wanted to try Via Napoli last time, but were unable to get ADRs. I agree that the Fantasmic Dining Package is a good deal on the dining plan. We like EOS last time, but it was kind of crowded and it probably would have been better to leave the double stroller outside. Not that that really helps you all any...:rotfl:

My DH grew up in Chicago and is a huge Bears fan. His dad even played for them for a couple of years. Needless to say he is excited about Sunday's game. His sister found this online and sent it to all of them:

"The Bear's Prayer
Our papa, who art a Bear, hallowed be thy fame, thy championship come, thy play be run, at home as it is away, give us this day our Sunday win, and forgive us our turnovers, though we pounce on those who turnover against us, and lead us not into fourth and long, but deliver us from Rodgers. In the name of Ditka, Butkus, & the Holy Payton. As it was in 1985 so it shall be in 2011, reign without end. BEARDOWN!!"

We are diehard Bears fans except our youngest son who is a diehard Packer fan (he was dropped on his head when he was born!); it will be interesting all the talk going back and forth until Sunday.

Someone sent me that prayer right before I left the office. I also got this (share with your hubby):

Yeah, I don't think I'll have a double stroller. At least I hope not. :lmao::lmao:

Kona is looking more and more promising. Thank you.

Which is the youngest son?? Markie or Andy?? You know, the one who has GOOD taste in football teams!!!

That would be Markie. He actually has Packer stuff still hanging all over his room (luckily we got rid of the Packer yellow paint).

Mr. Mark says to tell that woman to simmer down or there will be no pool time with Mr. Mark. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Even though we still have plenty of time before we make our ADR's, I like to have a good idea of what I am going to book. I am really struggling with it this time as we want to try new places, but also go back to some old places.

The first two days of our stay we will not be on the dining plan and will pay out of pocket. These are our plans for our first two nights:

Friday, September 23 -- we will eat at Emeril's at CityWalk by Universal
I've not eaten there so can't really help. I can offer input on where we did eat at Universal though :rotfl: Which was several places between inside the parks, at CityWalk and at the resorts.

Saturday, September 24 -- we will have breakfast at Boma and a late lunch at Earl of Sandwich (Earl is a new place for us)

Have not been to either so I'm of no help on this day. I'd like to try both. I've been to Boma for dinner, just not breakfast.

That leaves us Sunday - Wednesday for the dining plan giving us four table service places.

We HAVE to do Crystal Palace for breakfast (I MUST have my Puffed French Toast)

We always do The Plaza as our last meal of our trip, but I'm not sure we'll be at the MK on our last day (I've not made our plans for what parks what days as of yet). We would pay out of pocket for Plaza
ok, doesn't sound like you want input here. :rotfl:

So, that leaves us 3 table service meals

We want to try Kona for breakfast, Via Napoli, Captain's Grill, Ohana (for dinner...don't like Stitch so we won't do breakfast), possibly Tusker House for the Nemo seating and Wolfgang Puck Express. We'd also like to go back to either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time and possibly LeCellier.

Please let me know which one(s) you prefer and why. Thanks. :goodvibes

Kona for breakfast - haven't been, only dinner but I hear nothing but good things!

Via Napoli - haven't been but really want to!

Captain's Grill - really wanted to go there, haven't been but have heard nothing but good things.

Ohana (for dinner...don't like Stitch so we won't do breakfast) LOVED the dinner

Tusker House for the Nemo seating- this was just ok to me but I'm not a big buffet person. For a buffet, it's quite good.

Wolfgang Puck Express. Great for lunch (I thought) loved my meal there

We'd also like to go back to either Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time and possibly LeCellier. We love PTC but I've not been to the others. The Tuna Noodle casserole at PTC is something else! YUM!

Ok just got caught up on reading. One thing that is enjoyable reading about how folks try and plan to hook up while on vacation, that sounds so exciting to do! Im enjoying the dining reviews as well as I am still undecided on a few dining options for this year's trip. And oh yea....Bears fans stand up!! Lets go Bears!!!!

Love yourBear prayer. My dad and dh are bears fans....my brother was a raiders fan, my youngest son is a jets fan....so he's still in it too. Apparently the bears gene isn't as strong as the cubs gene is in our family.

I'm hoping to get to Universal for a day on our trip, I really want to try one of the restaurants on City Walk, they all look so good! :woohoo:

You're going to LOVE EoS, it's amazing!!!

I haven't been to Kona for breakfast, but I really want to, I have to try that Tonga Toast, or those macadamia pancakes, so you should definitely go there, I've heard it's great! :thumbsup2

Captain's Grille is very good, I don't think enough people go there!

Ohana dinner is fantastic, but a lot of people complain about the service, which I thought was pretty good, so I don't get it! :confused3 The bread pudding is the BEST dessert I've ever had in my life. Better than the chocolate moose at Le Cellier!

Le Cellier is amazing, which I'm sure you know!!! :thumbsup2 I don't know what we are going to do now that dinner is 2 TS credits. :sad1: I'm assuming Brandon will want to eat there twice, so I'm thinking us one credit for lunch and then pay OOP for dinner one night.

Oh, and I cannot wait to try Via Napoli, that is definitely at the top of my list for must do restaurants! :cool1:

Just thought I'd share these pictures from our Mother's Day Kona breakfast for those of you who have never been.

The Big Kahuna.

Steak and eggs. My son insisted I take a bite of the steak, and it was so good!

I think we'll skip Tusker House if the seats are that close and it takes away from the illusion. We like MM for the Fantasmic Package too...if we get to see it this year (last year it wasn't showing the one and only day we could go to the Studios).

See, you actually were of help with the Tusker House/Nemo arrangement.

Good, I am glad that I helped even a wee bit.

We would do dinner, not breakfast. As I said, do NOT like Stitch and I don't care for family style...I prefer buffets so I can pick the food I like and not have to eat what they provide.

Even at dinner though, Ohana is family style.. Just in case you didn't know. ;)

Wish I could be more helpful, but we aren't trying a lot of these places until next month. We ate at 50's Primetime last year and didn't really like it. I am very much looking forward to trying Ohana's and Via Napoli...oh, and Le Cellier, too! :goodvibes

Hi Kathy, wow I go to Disneyland for a few days and come home to find your ptr pages long!

Happy late birthday to Mark and I loved the pictures of Markie's coaching. You must be so proud, what a great young man you have raised.:thumbsup2 Two of them actually!

Your two days at AKL sound heavenly.

For what its worth, we love Ohana for dinner. We've never had a bad dinner there although after a few lapu lapu's they might be serving us spam for all we know!
